Yeah, I tend to agree with you........BUT....I think Darchinyan is vastly more proven, so im not sure, it´s very close..... And yes, it would be a brawl, great brawl !
I wouldn't say Vic is vastly more proven as far as the quality of opposition taken on goes(or especially defeated) though he certainly has taken more risks and been involved in bigger fights. Pacheco, Maldonado, Kirilov, Mijrares, past prime Arce and few others isn't much better, if at all than Galaxy's list of wins. past prime jensen, Past prime Orono, Contreras, too small Yong-Kang Kim, pical etc It's about equal i'd say, with a clear edge to Galaxy if you only include superfly wins. I think Galaxy was a better, more effective puncher and would beat Darchinyan to the punch with his straighter shots.Vic doesn't bring enough volume or accuracy to offset him imo and his skills are almost nonexistant, though he has the power to make it intriguing at least.Galaxy wasn't skilled or elusive enough himself where he isn't going to be at a certain degree or risk against another aggressive big puncher willing to let his hands go, even if they are a notch or two below him overall.
good post:goodoverall resume i'd lean toward vic but i'm not that familiar with either galaxy's resume or the divisions history. based on styles and talent, vic doesn't have the same punching power or speed that galaxy had and in a pure throwdown, i lean towards khaoshi
So everyone sees them slugging it out over a full 12 or 15? I'm the only one who sees Darchinyan getting stopped?
Vic never bothered reading the textbook when he was learning his craft..but I think he is a smarter fighter than he is given credit for. Good natural instincts let him get away with his style. I think he could use his awkwardness and footspeed to frustrate Galaxy for a while...instead of trying to outmuscle and brawl him for extended periods. But either way I see Vic getting worn down and pasted on the canvas..I just think it is possible that he wouldnt be to far if at all behind when it happens. I do believe Vic has taken on better fighters overall...but thats why he has 3 losses.
Vic has a better resume, i should have seen that posters here would put a 'there resumes are even' spin on it. **** me, Darchinyan's resume must be appauling then, because that's what most posters in this forum usually regard Galaxy's as.
But only compared to the level of fighter he is compared to historically by some publications. Compared to a guy like Darchinyan, his win column is as good probably even better.
To me he only has more depth at 115 than Darchniyan, because he was at the weight longer. Mijares was seen as a fine win at the time, a big win. I suppose he was totally blown out of proportion though? Even though he turned out to be overrated it's still a good win for Darchinyan and i won't accept it as mediocre personally no matter how many posters attack me with it. Notice i said right off the bat that I think Galaxy wins and i'm one of the only posters on here that thinks he was good, and that rates him. I just think it's silly that people seem to always say that the fighter from the past is superior in every way, shape and form than the newer fighter. Darchinyan has the better win resume.
I think you are overblowing that to anarci-esque levels. I would say most if not all around here think Galaxy is good, better then good. Amongst the very best at superfly in terms of resume and ability. But you know full well how some sections of the media have chosen to portray him...and how that is obviously going to create a backlash.
