Khaosai Galaxy vs Vic Darchinyan

Nobody on here ever claims he is one of the best in terms of resume, i don't either, i just rate him as a good fighter, he looked pretty effective to me, and from what i usually read on here people think he wasn't that good at all.

 

Classic opinion on him seems to ebb and flow (as it does with many boxers).

I seem to recall him getting a lion's share of votes in a matchup with Tapia...who has a very solid reputation of maintaining respect as a h2h player.

 

Here's the way i see it.

Ask classic about Galaxy in general, the consensus is he's overrated and has a terrible resume.

Ask classic about Galaxy in comparison to fighters that came after him, the consensus is he is better than them

I love classic and i'm not speaking for 100% of posters but you can't deny these things as an overall thing.

Tapia is the one i normally cite as the best at 115,

C'mon man, don't pull out the older vs newer fighter thing here.I wouldn't expect that from you teeto.

imo Flyweight to Bantam just haven't had a great deal of talent since circa mid-90s(not to be confused with the divisions not having good competitive matchups a plenty).It's just a phase the divisions are going through and most of the long running champions since then have a lot of padding imo, while many not being more than decent hard working B level types themselves.

Galaxy's record IS weak, especially in relation to his era and the esteem he was held in for a long time, but i'd say it compares reasonably well to anyone below Bantam from this decade.

Daechinyan definitely took more risks though, i wouldn't think that is even arguable.

 

galaxy by ko ,if its a war then galaxy for me has to much fire power and yes i suppose i am one of the few that really rate galaxy highly, when it comes to H2H matches i really like his i am going to get you in the end way of fighting and when on the odd occassion he went down for me he was not hurt but more off balance due to the fact his footwork was really quite poor and he could get very square on . just my personal opinion
