Good round for Faniyan. If he had a little more power to back up his sharp jabs he would be one to watch out for

    WBC open scoring after four:

    39-36 blue corner
    39-36 blue corner
    38-37 blue corner

    ...presumably Faniian is blue corner.

    What was that then?

It was three syllables, couldn't make out the consonants but going on vowels it was something with "O", then an "E" sound followed by "AH".

Eddie Hearn sitting at ringside, manspreading (airing out his crotch I guess, sweating up a storm in those stuffy dress pants), taking up three chairs...hanging out with somebody that looks like a young Teddy Atlas with a mullet. :dunno

    Round 5

Tellézgirón is ripping body hooks on the way in and scoring but Faniian is able to grab him to quell the attacks before they can gain traction, or is sliding his feet outside and countering smoothly with straights. Faniian is starting to rock Tellézgirón at the end of some of his shots. Faniian mixing in long fastball rights and lead left hooks.

    10-9 Faniian

    47-47

    Round 6

Tellézgirón is getting stung every time Faniian starts pressing forward and throwing combos in spite (accompanied by guttural barking as he does so) but keeps standing in front of him, in the hopes of investing some more body work or landing a big hail Mary overhand right like the one that earned him the knockdown earlier. Tellézgirón behaving either stupidly or bravely depending on your perspective (and on the outcome, I suppose). Faniian absolutely CRUNCHING him with shots, forcing Tellézgirón now to hold.

    10-9 Faniian

    57-56 Faniian

This is honestly among the best mid-card fights I've seen in a long time.

    Round 7

Tellézgirón is plugging hard left hooks on the body and Faniaan, tiring somewhat, is hunching over and grabbing at Tellézgirón, pulling him close where he can't get leverage on any more of those liver-smashers. Faniian pushing down on Tellézgirón's head in the clinch or enveloping it between his arms like a vice grip until the referee orders a break, which is now every twenty seconds or so. Nice right hand left hook combo flush on the chin by Faniian while stepping back from the pocket. They swap left hooks and both land. Clinch. Break. Clinch. Break. Several times coming together and being pushed apart by the referee with neither landing (and barely throwing) a punch.

10-9 Faniian, although Tellézgirón had moments in the fisrt half.

    67-65 Faniian

    Round 8

Tellézgirón is now having a strong round, taking over as Faniian recoups his strength. BIG left hooks downstairs, making Faniian double over and then grab hold of Tellézgirón for dear life. Tellézgirón is ramming his jab high and hard through Faniian's guard, backing him up. Faniian spending the whole round in retreat, pawing light defensive jabs, or mauling Tellézgirón up close and giving him the octopus treatment in between huge blasts to his sides. The ref finally gives Faniian a very stern warning for holding, and Faniian talks back to him with some attitude, so the ref gets hot under the collar and says "okay, you know what then? One point". Whoa. Never seen a fighter sass his way into a deduction before.

    10-8 Tellézgirón

    75-75
