Khasan Uvaysovich Baysangurov vs. Paul Ramón Valenzuela Cuesta RBR

Whaaaaaaaaat?!?!

They added Khuseyn Baysangurov onto his brother's undercard last-minute, apparently. He's taking on a Georgian named something like "Malta Sotrashvili". This bout isn't listed on BoxRec.

 

Malkhaz Sujashvili is his name.

He looks scared as hell.

 

10-9 Baysangurov, easy work, letting his jabs carve a notch every couple of inches all the way up and down from Sujashvili's waistband to his eyes. Sujashvili got in like one good body hook all round, otherwise backing up and getting tattooed with jabs even as he shells up. A couple of right hands downstairs from Baysangurov, although he isn't throwing anything full-power with conviction yet, just kind of coasting along, carrying Sujashvili almost.

 

Yeah, same I worried this was some horrible last-minute replacement for Valenzuela.

 

Malkhaz Sujashvili takes a knee halfway into the second round, just due to accumulation of jabs & slapping reach-around body shots from Baysangurov. He reluctantly beats the count and responds affirmatively when the ref asks if he wants to continue, but with over a minute left Baysangurov resumes taking pot shots, and is now easily blasting through Sujashvili's guard and cranking his neck. Sujashvili turns his back and runs. The ref says to not do that, but doesn't give him a standing eight as he could. Baysangurov keeps hitting. Sujashvili turns and runs again. The ref waves.

TKO2!!

 

Gonna be an awkward flight home..

"So, how'd you do? You took on the older Baysangurov, right? I've been too busy getting drunk celebrating my upset of that Ukrainian kid to bother checking the other card results..."
"Just...forget it, Levan. I don't wanna talk about it.."

 

Yeah I think it was just an excuse to shoehorn Khuseyn onto his brother's card to be televised. He looks a bit chubby in the face, maybe he didn't even have a training camp and was literally added within the last day or so (explaining why the bout wasn't included with the show info sent to BoxRec editors)

 

Could do without all the UFC junk as time filler.

 

So do we know the running order for the remaining fights?

Assuming there are no more "surprise" bouts undisclosed to BoxRec:

We have Mishiko Beselia vs. TBA over 8 rounds, plus
Karen Chukhadzhyan vs. Dilan Loza in a welterweight ten-rounder, and the co-features.

I read somewhere that Ramil Gadzhyiev vs. Bruno Sandoval is the actual main event, and not Khasan Baysangurov vs. Paul Valenzuela like I assumed?

 

Hm, they just showed Khasan shadowboxing in his dressing room..
