    Fourth could've gone either way.

Not sure if Abdukakhorov is holding some back in his tank for the last two rounds. The alternative would be worrying - that he's gassed this early. (seems unlikely with all his deep-water experience...been ten or twelve rounds many times...but then he could also be shot, or not training like he did in his prime)

More aggressive fifth by Abdukakhorov, walking the youngster down with his front shoulder thrust up high and tossing overhands and hooks - willing to eat whatever light counters Madoyan is able to get off while backpedaling.

Abdukakhorov southpaw to close the show. Ripping long lead left uppercuts into the breadbasket of Madoyan. Abdukakhorov reverts orthodox again, now sliding his feet in towards his prey and throwing alternately 1-2s above the guard or left hooks on the body. Madoyan forced to retreat, which seems to be a bugaboo for him (as does trading inside - he's really only effective, it seems, when he can tee off from range and is allowed to get off first).

Ten second clap and desperate leaping gazelle hook by Madoyan, blocked. He shrugs playfully as if to apologize to either Abdukakhorov for the cheek of it or the crowd for not landing.

He's very slappy, but if we score Conceicaos shots, I guess we score anyones.

Abdukakhorov put in a middling performance, with very inconsistent urgency, but he still landed at the higher clip with the most effective punches throughout IMO. Absolute worst case scenario for him should've been a draw - @Aburius had about the most generous card you could reasonably fill out for Madoyan.

Suppose it's a hazard when you allow rounds to be so close that doubt creeps in and don't work for the full 3 minutes bell to bell, especially in a 6-rounder, especially in your opponent's backyard. Still though, shame that he now falls to an 0-3 skid undeservedly.

I listened to the announcer 3 times and the he did not announce the scorecards, just: "all 3 judges agree". Or something in the lines of that.

I don't think Madoyan gets that decision without the previous Armenian having lost.

Here was my preview from the poll thread:

No hardware on the line and neither is currently ranked top fifteen in the world by any major org - but a victory for either here could make some inroads there. Both are on decent runs of form with the Russian puncher going 10-0 (8) since his lone career loss to Armenian southpaw Aram Armenovich Amirkhanyan in 2018, and the Venezuelan coming off a capture of his nation's vacant super welterweight title last August versus fellow unbeaten countryman Jeremy Álvarez.

The main event is former amateur standout Pavel Antonovich "MEX Style" Sosulin vs. Filipino banger Caraloo Gella "Brown Sugar" Bacaro in the former's first defense of the WBA Asia middleweight championship - but I'm honestly more intrigued by this one. It's a huge leap up in class for Sánchez, who mostly feasted on dismal domestic opposition prior to Álvarez - but likewise this is the probably the first live body Baysangurov (the overall weakest member of his dynasty, IMO) will have faced since Triple A defeated him.

I haven't seen enough Sánchez footage to pick him outright to upset Baysangurov (like I did call for Amirkhanyan correctly seven years ago), as there isn't really much available - just the war of an SD victory over Álvarez. I've never thought much of Khuseyn though - rating him well below his brother Khasan and even more so their cousin Zaurbek.

    Makeup call? Sounds about right.

Given that Madoyan was a much bigger amateur star than Karen Tonkanyan, makes sense they'd reserve the shenanigans for him. And tbf, it wasn't like he should've lost a shutout. His effort was credible - just, yeah, shouldn't have secured him the W over Abdukhakarov.
