Sánchez switch-hitting pretty effectively. (worth noting that Amirkhanyan is a lefty)

Referee lecturing Sanchez about cuffing - proper punch technique seems to be something IBA cares about. ( Unless its a home fighter, of course)

    Sanchez
    Bysangurov, close

    1-1

Huh. Khasan (the younger and more talented brother, in my view) apparently lost a MD to Christopher Mandell Ousley, an unbeaten Chicagoan, on the first Usyk vs. Joshua undercard in 2021 - and has since fallen off the face of earth. :nusenuse:

He's for sure having a blast saying his name practically every other word. I'd be schnockered already if this was a drinking game...

Sánchez in trouble in the 4th - but, has shown he can fight through adversity before (was badly cut for most of the second half of the Álvarez contest and gutted it out & won)

Head clash, possible broken nose on Sánchez. Would be a damn shame if they stopped it and went to a TD, because at this point that would surely mean victory for the Russian. I'm keen to see how the rest of this plays out, if they let it.

Was that a massive diving head butt from Bysangurov?

Ref helicoptering now, leery of any more headbutts during infighting.

Sánchez dancing around, orthodox, crouching and jabbing the body while ducking Baysangurov's reach-in shots.

Body jab by Sánchez the only thing really scoring clean with any consistency. Baysangurov stepping in and chopping down with the right or lunging with the high jab on the chin, but Sánchez able to duck, swoop, and counter to stem his advance.

Sánchez round, although Baysangurov closed it strong.

Sánchez boxing really well and exposing Baysangurov's one-dimensionality. I just question whether the judges will reward him in rounds where the Chechen fighter is the one coming forward. A lot of the slipped punches could be perceived differently from certain angles, where Baysangurov's arm rams into Sánchez's neck as he's bending at the waist.

In terms of textbook boxing he's doing everything right as far as defense and countering accurately.
