Round 1

Sosulin is jabbing hard into the guard of the Filipino challenger. Bacaro weaves under a couple of jabs and comes up firing, shots blocked on the high guard of Sosulin. Neither has penetrated yet halfway into the opener. Good left hook downstairs by Bacaro as they circle in close. Sosulin starts spamming a 1-2 up top, Bacaro ducking and getting his hair buzzed by the champ's underarms. Swatting hook up top by Bacaro, grazing. Uppercut by Sosulin scores. 1-2 by Sosulin breaking the guard. Dash-in left hook from Bacaro, avoided as Sosulin glides backward.

Round 2

Sosulin is holding up goalposts as Bacaro hunkers in low, working the body. Sosulin takes a step back and scores his own left hook downstairs. Bacaro whipping single hooks, alternating high and low as he steps in, while Sosulin is throwing straights in combination. Sosulin walks Bacaro into the ropes with a lead right converted into an uppercut, but Bacaro battles his way clear and reverses their position. Nice combo by Sosulin, left hook on the hip and right cross up top. They are trading at medium-close range, both missing narrowly. HUGE left hook on the liver and Bacaro goes to nearly all fours, partly held up by ropes & turnbuckle, given a count with half a minute left in the round. Bacaro looks more disappointed than hurt and comes out aggressively to rumble with Sosulin in the last few moments until the bell.

Round 3

Sosulin on top of Bacaro early, working surgically with the high jab. Bacaro backed into a corner and getting hit with left-right combos. Quadruple jab by Sosulin herding Bacaro into the opposite corner. ANOTHER BODY SHOT KNOCKDOWN by Sosulin. Bacaro in pain, riding the count.

Alright, that was pretty impressive. Sosulin now 10-0, five stoppages.

 

Not a bad little midday Friday show overall...although Abdukakharov and Sánchez both got hosed.
