Man you're right. Imagine being so dumb to think that what matters most in evaluating a fighters career is their actual professional boxing career, consisting of irrelevant things like "Who they beat" & "Career achievements", or other stupid things like "Consistency", "Longevity", or "Dominance" of/in the sport itself. I agree that the comically archaic notion of "greatness", in a sport with a, supposedly (to dumb old timers, of course), rich century+ long history, is worthy of being put into dismissive quotes.

Bet they feel really silly thinking that boxing matches shouldn't basically decided by a powerlifting/track and field meet.

Also funny to think that there would be rare contrarians that would vote out Ali bit there is somehow (thankfully) not one vote for Joe Louis.

Wladimir Klitschko had the second longest reign and objectively was the most dominant champion over a long reign. He only lost like four rounds in a period of 7 years at a point. He beat more people for the title than anybody else, or if you don't count the WBO title at first, than everybody besides Louis. In terms of achievements, Wladimir is top 3 minimum. In terms of longevity he's top 3 minimum. In terms of dominance, it's trickier because he started his career roughly, but he was absurdly dominant for like 7 years. At least top 5.

I was replying to the second part of your post after the comma. I obviously don't think Wlad wasn't dominant.

When the truth has been spoken, you can only repeat it. PEDS are expensive, illegal, and dangerous. If he could have done without them, he would not have cheated, broke the law and sacrificed his health. You are irrational.

No other HW on this list had a brother that was such a top HW. Why hold that against Wlad? What's Vitali supposed to do, duck an opponent b/c his brother lost to that fighter? Vitali himself was a major factor in the HW landscape. Talk about reaching to make a 'point' against Wlad :shakehead:

Assuming Wlad lost badly to Sanders the 2nd fight (I doubt it), he'd be like Frazier losing badly to Foreman 2X. Btw, I'd remove Frazier & Foreman from the list well before Wlad.

I'd remove most of the fighters in this list before Wlad as he had a great career. The arguments against Wlad are lame... the so called 'golden' HW era is highly overrated. In the 'golden era' a 6'3" 220lb. HW was a monster. Today that's a smallish HW like Usyk. Modern HWs like K bros, Lewis, yes Fury and likely Wilder, etc. would demolish prior era HWs. Many here look like casuals making illogical arguments. I've seen some of your posts in this topic and you're a certified Wlad hater.

Not his fault fighting alongside his brother but the consequence of it is it diluted the division for both which can be seen in Vitali's thin record and Wlad not avenging Sanders.

Clearly, losing to Foreman is not as bad as losing to Sanders.

And head-to-head is not the same as respective greatness. Whether or not you feel Lennox Lewis would demolish Rocky Marciano has no bearing on their legacies. The two shouldn't be conflated.

    I'll try once more.

You stated as fact, that Evander could not do something (bulk naturally & be more effective), and your proof is that if he could have, he would have.

Think about it this way: What if Evander realized that he was faster when 'natural', but thought he would do better with ped-resultant power improvement? What if he was wrong & the speed was actually more important versus the HWs, and he had a better record, as a result? I am not saying it's probable & in fact I agree the peds improved his success at HW. But that is my opinion, and it is an opinion, not a fact, because Evander never tried to go to the end of his career 'clean'.

I'm guessing here, is what I'm saying, and so are you - agreed?

I don't think you know what a PED is and what it does for athletes, and I furthermore think you like in la la land.

It's a race between Johnson and Wlad.

Both dominant in their era, both with terrible competition.

Johnson´s best Win was a 6 year retired Jeffries and Wlads best Win
was an absolutely disgusting fight against Povetkin which was more like a wrestling match.

Overall i choose Wlad and vote him out because Johnson was ahead of his time and had a huge impact on Boxing and future Generations.

I don't see where Wlad had any influence on Boxing, his reign was horror (literally)

For one to live in la la land, one needs to state their opinions as fact, and never admit to being wrong.

    FACT! :p

You could choose between a few of them and not be wrong.

    For me, today, it's Wlad.

My problem is that the other standout of his era happened to be his brother. Both were clearly above the rest in their era and while one cannot expect them to fight each other it does impact both of them to an extent.

Anytime the question is asked who would have won the answer is heavily disputed and at times tilted to Vitali.

So the problem is you have two standouts who can't fight each other and both are well above their peers. Imagine Ali and Frazier ruling/existing concurrently for quite some time while never coming together. Or Ali and Foreman for some years in the 70's with neither losing for a decent period.

Neither cleaned out the division because they simply, reasonably, couldn't. It's unfortunate for both because at least one of them would have rose significantly if circumstance wasn't as it were, and there's also a chance both of them could have raised their stocks immensely if they would out a competitive series of bouts. It's the sort of challenge that makes ATG's, puts one above the other, or sometimes breaks one of them.

You could argue Wlad went on a few years after Vitali retired and Vitali also missed a segment if his career but you can also speculate that if they weren't brothers and went at it Wlad's career could have been shortened and worst case scenario Vitali might have knocked him right off the pedestal. At any rate no other guy during their time was near as good as those two so neither had the opportunity to reach for the sky.

    So it's a bit of a turnstyle.
