I had no expectations for this match, in the sense that I was actually not expecting or even hoping for a great match. I had heard that Sugar Ray Robinson allegedly claimed that his own style was influenced by Joe Louis and Kid Chocolate and was a combination of the power and precision of Louis with the speed and mobility of Chocolate. So for me, watching this fight was more of a study than anything else.

1-Chocolate kicks the fight off with great movement. He reminded me of Robinson, but actually reminded me more of Emile Griffith than Robinson. The round was clinch-filled, but there was some brisk exchanges near round's end. Even.
3-Both proved good grapplers throughout the clinches. Chocolate showed good defense, blocking or evading several of Singer's blows. There was a great burst of action near the end of the round. Singer.
9-Both came out of their corners slamming big shots home. The fight slowed down after that, with both returning to clinching and grappling. Infrequent action for the rest of the round. Even.
12-For most of the final round Chocolate outfights Singer, but Singer rallied well near the end of the round. Even.

Though not amazing, I thought Chocolate looked like a good fighter.

Verdict: Some good action in the supplied film, but I felt like there was not enough there to really enjoy the brawl that it appeared to have been.
