So Winky announced earlier that he is making his return on the Floyd-Cotto undercard. Now word is out that GBP is working on finalizing Quillin as the opponent. Thoughts? Winky was a shell of himself years ago when PWill pasted him. Now he is facing a strong, hungry middleweight a few years later. This is going to be one sided. Quillin needs to get his name out there, so this is a great showcase for him.
:nono Everybody looks to be writing the old man off out of hand. Even rusty, Winky could throw a ****** wrench in the plans for Quillin to rise to the top of the division and mix it up with the Golovkins, Pirogs, and Maravillas.
Meh, he could but it was obvious in his last fight with Willams the layoff hurt and his timing that once made him so effective was way off. I worry with a longer layoff and older body that doesn't bode well. Can only hope he turns back the clock, that'd make me the happiest clam on earth.
The thing is, KC hasn't really been in with a master boxer yet. And it isn't like Ronald was ever chinny enough to have to worry about getting blown out (and that's assuming his defense is at the 50% of what is used to be that would be required for Quillin to be landing KO-worthy shots)
I know, the good thing about Winky is his style will never allow him to take big shots, so I don't worry about him getting hurt. I just wonder why now though? He's had a lot of time to come back and to come back now confuses me as to what he really wanted post-Hopkins.
