Telling that this is still very one-sided (no doubt at all who's bossing the rounds) but 5x more competitive than Galahad vs. Wale was.

"Howard Foster is one of the best around..."

    :yikes

That was just said, in serious tones.

    The mind reels.

Compared to the Corley vs McCloskey/Vitali vs Briggs ref, Ian John Lewis, this bloke is brilliant :-(

    Round 3

Eubank is working outside in, and strafing side to side. Nice body work by Eubank, daring to linger very close. Matthews is picking his shots carefully, jabbing down at Eubank and dropping some rights on his back. Tit for tat, very tactical without being boring. Eubank in control but not exactly what you'd call dominating. Giving the fans a show. Matthews cuffs him with a hook and then lands an abrupt stiff jab Eubank wasn't expecting, having his moments.

    30-27 Eubank

I have them neck and neck.

(in my fantasy that is, where there are nooses around both necks as I serve as judge, jury & executioner for their extensive combined rap sheet of crimes against boxing...)

    Round 4

Hard right hand up top by Eubank. Left hook to the body. Eubank is putting some real zip on these shots now. Matthews seems quieted by it. Eubank is coming forward. Left uppercut by Matthews trying to fend Eubank off. Finally Eubank relents, gets back to circling and boxing from outside. Body shots by Matthews diving low, then holding until Foster breaks them up. They stand a few feet apart and have a stare down through their guards. The crowd wants more action. Neither man bows to pressure. Cautious, waiting. Matthews moves forward but hits the brakes as Eubank ducks down low, with Matthews getting his arm out to protect his family jewels. Jab by Matthews. Eubank down, slip. Matthews accidentally lands a late hit as Eubank is on his knees, just a love tap. No biggie. Matthews lands a jab, and Eubank ducks and rises with a quick slashing combo. Matthews dives in and forces up a right hand, just missing. Matthews is darting in and out, testing the waters. Clinch. Foster breaks. Several uppercuts by Eubank, missing but pushing Matthews back.

    40-36 Eubank

That was actually a very encouraging round for Matthews.

He wasn't too far off from stealing it. (which would have put him on pace to hold Eubank to a draw on my card, assuming he could keep the momentum going throughout the second half) :think

Probably on my card as well as the ones that matter, but Matthews is making him work for it.

Eubank isn't being matched easy in his early career, he will learn and grow from fighting these guys. (All the more so because he had virtually no amatuer career.)
