Like him a lot! Id love to see Galahad vs Munroe next up, to me the fight just makes sense. My mini fab 4 are as follows: 1) Frampton 2) Quigg 3) Munroe 4) Galahad
I haven't seen Galahad yet. I heard he is skilled but with absolutely no pop at all. Sort of an Ian Napa mark II. But looking at his record, he seems to be stopping more fighters of late. Is that down to an improvement in power? Sitting down on shots more etc? Or are these just British stoppages of guys over-matched?
You should check him out; very skilled, slick & probably the quickest British fighter in any division. He's a pure boxer more similar to Herol Graham than Ian Napa, very Ingle-ish in style but with good balance & great mobility. He's still only 22 & showing signs of improvement fight after fight. The lack of punching power is overstated imo though he is starting to load up a little more recently, especially to the body. Most of his stoppages have been due to damage accumulation rather than devastating power but he did drop & stop his last opponent with a nice short right hook. He's my favourite young British fighter & I think he'll achieve more than Quigg or Frampton.
Mo Out of pure interest, why do you think this mate? ill be straight up here, I think Quigg and Frampton would stop him as of today, he's just to easy to hit! He's 22 so he has a ton of potential but Quigg and Frampton are still babies themselves.
I like him. I think at a certain level he'll find it tough to keep pressure fighters off him but he's a good fighter. He needs to really launch that jab out.
In the simplest terms, I think he'll prove to be harder to beat than either Quigg or Frampton. Dont have the time now but I'll do a proper breakdown of the three tonight. As for the "easy to hit" comment. Really?
The lack of power is a problem, guys at a higher level might just walk through him, he's also not as slick as people think like to think he is, Booth was tagging him with wild shots you could see coming from a mile away. He works the body well, has a good engine and has some classy moves, right now Frampton and Quigg both stop him IMO.
I think you would be able to add Jazza Dickens into that mix and make it a fab 5 very soon if not now.
He will be difficult to beat once he starts punching with some pop, as you said this looks to be coming on slowly, but right now, its just not there when considering the level Galahad will be operating at in 2013! His habit of backing up straight with his chin high needs addressing, easy to hit in terms of top class fighters wont have too many problems finding him, not easy to hit in the Brandon Rios sense.
