The Cuban Hawk v The Hawk. My money's on Gavilan. Just as ferocious as Pryor but with more skill and his bolo punches would catch Aaron frequently. A classic fight that goes the distance culminating in 'The Kid' winning by around four points.
One is a full-fledged welter that even fought at middleweight. One is a natural lightweight that moved up to 140. Can't imagine the fight even being made.
Yet there was talk of Pryor moving up to welterweight at one time to challenge Sugar Ray Leonard and a lot of pundits thought that he would have given Ray a competitive fight albeit a losing one.
