I am going for Gavilan by narrow decision due to the fact this was his more natural weight. A great big man almost always beats a great little one. This would be a fascinating bout between two fighters lacking the dynamite punch.

It's tough, and I hate saying it, but I think Gavilan W15 just based on his being busier.

I'm gonna go with the flow here.

Gavilan by close decision, mainly due to his size advantage and that he'd be fighting at his most comfortable weight. No doubting Pea wouldn't give him an easy time at all. A close contest.

btw: Who's that lovely lass on yer new avatar, JT1?

Gavilan takes Whitaker, who would make his presense felt but would lose by a score of 9-6 in rounds.

Gavilan wasn't the boxer Whitaker was... Whitaker takes a clear decision .

Gavilan will be too busy. Great fight, but he's fast, varied and consistent enough to put his game on Pea enough to take the W.

Would love to see the jab trade-off. A very hard pick IMO, but Gavilan is the naturally bigger man and has the style to stay right in there with a dynamic ring general of Pernell's calibre.
