This would have been a great fight in my opinion. I envisage it going the distance with Gavilan's better skills and speed deciding the issue. Ted would definitely have his moments though.
It's pretty much impossible to analyse, but based on pedigree and the fact I'm not betting against a guy as good as Gavilan - you gotta go with the Keed.
I think it is a clear Gavilan win, simply because, in general, in that 15 - 20 years span, wisespread athleticism & slick stylistic Boxing was added to the 'already' existing tough, fit & capable fighting zeitgeist.
God gave him too many hand speed,his punching technique further accelerating those fists,plus an iron chin,an accuracy unusual for a M60 type puncher,and lastly he would never stop coming and always hits you everywhere in the right place where his opponents would crumble.
