I couldn't find a thread of this fantasy matchup so I presume this hasn't been discussed yet. I think this would be really interesting and entertaining fight. Who do you think will win and how? The fight would be at somewhere around 150-160lbs. Both in their respective primes of course
Would be fascinating watching KG find resources to keep him busy. I think he'd be able to do so, he's a little bigger than Duran and could keep him from getting too deadly I think. Hagler would win an uncontroversial fight on points.
I feel that Kid Gavilan with his slick boxing ability would make it a good contest early, using at times his famed bolo punch, but Marvelous Marvin Hagler's aggressiveness and southpaw right jab sets up other punches, combinations. The Marvelous one wins a comfortable 15 round decision.
This is a another question entirely, but do you guys think Gavilan could beat the Hagler from the Leonard or perhaps even the Mugabi fight? Would this make the match-up more balanced?
Gavilan was routinely out-boxed by Graham. He'd get abused worse than Sibson against Hagler, who was almost as good a Boxer as Graham but a hard-slugging full-blown Middleweight to boot.
