My money would be on Norfolk but it would not be a confident pick.

I would pick Norfolk as well...but not confidently either. Foster would time Norfolk coming in with dynamite, I think he would be able to hurt Norfolk very badly. But if Norfolk were able to stay in ( I think he would) his physicality would wear on Foster, and he would take Foster out. But Foster would land some hellacious shots on him in the early going.

Norfolk doesnt look good enough on film (vs Bill Tate) in my opinion.....very awkward with wide punches.....
Bob had an accurate and fast jab, was a boxer-puncher with more ability, and was more stronger....Foster by TKO late rounds

But maybe I´m wrong about Kid and underrating him....

Foster by knockout circa the mid rounds. I think Norfolk does look good on film against Tate, but I just don't think the crouching style that he fought out of would have much success against someone as tall, rangy, and most importanly such a powerful, accurate hitter as Foster. Not past a certain point, anyway, although he may have some success early on. I think Foster would take out someone like Qawi in similar fashion.

Humm, Well, I will watch it again (Kid vs Tate).....
Tate was not so good and as far as I can remember Kid was a little awkward and wide with that left hook.....But maybe because his size disavantage.....

Yes, the size disparity between the two was laughable, but not quite so much as how one-sided the bout was in the smaller man's favor. You're right on Tate. In that footage he didn't appear to have much imagination at all, and Norfolk took full advantage of that, avoiding the jabs out of his crouching, bob and weave style and exploding with looping lefts and rights. That's often the way to fight a taller opponent, to loop your punches inside of or around theirs, and Norfolk executed that gameplan very well, I thought.

I just don't think he'd have anywhere near the same consistent success against someone like Foster, who as far as I can tell was infinitely superior to Tate.

Tate looks poor, but the things Norfolk implemented would not have worked with someone with Fosters timing and power IMO.

    Foster via mid-rounds sparkage.
