As already noted in this thread, both aspects of that sentence are very questionable.

I don't know that any fighter including Tunney can say that, given that we don't know exactly when and how Greb's vision problems began to interfere with his form.

Because his big wins (Miske, Flowers, Siki) alternated with some rather embarrassing losses (Langford, Anderson, Wills, Gibbons) that kept setting back his progress.
