Rose lost to Fowler two years ago, hasn't stopped anyone in seven years and at 36 I think he's done. The Preston/Blackpool things add something but I think it's a very hard sell as a big fight, at this stage Rose should be little more than a tick over fight or a test for up and coming fighters and I mean no disrespect to Rose when I say that, great career and everything, I just think he's done.

Brian Rose was due to fight Ammo Williams but that fight has been shelved, which tells me Rose is looking for a bit of a cash out now or one last roll of the dice against a decent opponent. The Fitzgerald fight makes a lot of sense, both Rose / Fitz have a decent following from Blackpool / Preston respectively so them two would do decent numbers and certainly be a profitable fight for Eddie to put on. It could main event Winter Gardens or if it was on the undercard of a Manchester Arena fight it would do well.

As for Conway, it was a no-brainer for him to take this fight and boost his profile. Whilst he did lose the fight (the scorecard for him was ridiculous) he put a good showing in and is certainly in that British / Euro level mix. He should certainly be looking at either a Cheeseman rematch or someone like Sam Eggington for his next outing. Losses don’t mean anything to him now he’s hanging at that level so might as well get stuck in and see how he does.
