Can anyone tell me more about this fighter? I've heard that he has gotten that bad end of some unjust decisions in his career. I've only seen him against Terry Norris, where Norris controlled the fight early but then faded to be knocked out in the 9th. He seemed to have a pretty good chin and experience well beyond what his fight record for that fight suggested.
well the stoppage to steve roberts was an awful stoppage mullings got tage dby a right southpaw hook and just seemed to be knocked back than hurt. in the 2nd round after a light sparring session another right hand tapped his temple very hard and his legs stiffened which made him fall into the ropes..very lightly, he was shook but was really alright to continue. the ref runs over trips up and to save his own embarresment stops the fight truely awful anyways yeah he was a world class fighter andeven though having less than 20 fights he was fighting tough tough competition. he wasn a boxer per say mor eof a very fit tough guy who had the skills to do some tricks but really he wasnt going to look like sugar ray clay jones jr. when he beat donald stokes the top(i think) 5 junior middleiweght he was replaced to fight raul marquez. typical unknown boxer fights new young ibf champion who was respected had decent power and had knocked out every one in his titel run. when the bell ang mullings just seemed to lose the first few rounds but came back so well. throwing more and more punches harder and harder shots. he wore marquez out . sadly the judges were facing the wrong way when they added the scores together. becuase it was a horrible decision kieth had mauled his way to a clear win. anyways it was seen as a robbery by many fans critics and common sense and was given recognition as being a top contender even if he had only 14 wins he looked to of proved it when a fight was scheduled against the terrible one terry norris. after gettign plastered and exposed on contender level norris slowed down by the 7th in which mullings came back and started to land more punches but still norris was fresh enough fight in him. then when norris was rocked the next round. it looked like a flan in a cuboard as norris just seemed to lose all that aggrsion all that athleticism that he had no less than 9 mins ago. norris foled and the ref stopped the fight. big upset but the reaosns why it wasnt upset of the year was becuase keith was held in high regard. think about how sam peter is ranked today. we talk about his great showing of chin and power and heart....but we found out that only 1 still stands and thats heart. bad example i know but thats what i thought of at the top of my head in the end good fighter tough son of a ***** and had enough skills not very talented but did know what he was doing
He was aggravating to watch, because he never punched enough. Way too conservative with his punch putput. Could have had something to do with him losing a lot of close calls.
