He is making his debut on friday. Has a good amateur expiriance. Think he can be (I hope ) the next Puerto Rican star. Hes the one in blue in this vid. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mimgy_JyPDU[/ame]
never heard of him he looks skinny for a heavyweight so he must be pretty tall.. but if he couldnt beat out gerardo bisbal to go to represent PR at the pan am games he must be pretty bad cause bisbal sucks :hat
He is a cruiser weight, He represented and won gold twice at the youth world championship, in 2006 (USA) and 2007 (PR). He is a good skilled fighter He was supposed to be in the pan American championship but was ex pulsed by the amateur committee by not showing in the trainings and for lack of dedication. The kid has talent but is another disciplined kid with lack of hearth and dedication that will be on the underachieved list.
Always fun to try to spot the future contenders! This guy looks OK, good balance & fundamentals. - And he is indeed skinny, so could conceivably be a true HW in a few years. (looks to be at least 6'2" based on the ring ropes.) But his punches look kinda' slow. No snap. And he just paws with his left. Where's the jab? He kind of reminds me of Denis Boytsov, who was promising but has failed so far to make a significant step up in skills. I don't see anything here to get REALLY excited about, but definitely a guy to keep an eye on.
Yeah he is currently a cruiserweight. He won his debut by TKO in the first round. He is 6-2 and has a 80 inch reach.
Hey Puertoricane, what happened your boy Carlos Necron who was knocked the fuk out by shot, old light heavyweight journeyman?:rofl
Tapia (1-0, 1KO) was relentless in his attack. The beginning of the end came with a right uppercut that jerked back the head of Santiago (0-1, 0KO), who was simply unable to defend himself from that point onward. A volley of head shots followed, including a perfectly placed left hook to the temple that put down Santiago face first, in fact skidding across the canvas as if he hit a rapid wave while surfing.
