Kiko was named as a client of Fuentes in the week building up to the Frampton fight, his name got mentioned in court, a few people tweeted Shane McGuigan & Eddie Hearn but neither seemed bothered. Hope both Kiko & M'Baye get the 2 year bans they deserve if they doped
Tennis is a bit nervous about what's gonna come out of this Spanish busniness too. They've already got their biological passport programme retort in before any **** hits the fan though. With all these debates about testing in boxing and the different types and efficiency of them, some overarching body keeping a check on biological passports would seem a sensible route to go down. Although as with anything in boxing, the fragmented nature of the professional game means it'd probably be bloody impossible even though boxing should be the sport taking it most seriously
all the main champs do at least HGH, esp the yanks. theres a brit who is fighting in may , in the uk , that i have 'herd' rumours about
As much as i agree PED is used a lot in the sport i don't think we should be saying all the top fighters/main champions do it because that's not the truth IMHO. Some fighters do keep the sport pure through there conduct. But i think it's rife in the sport yes.
Cheaters will always try and find some way around any system. The problem in boxing is that there is no reliable system of checks in place and it takes individual high profile fighters like Mayweather to take any sort of stand against it. Tennis had a similar issue arise last year when Djokovic was asked how many blood tests he'd had over the last year or so, and the answer was embarrassing. Especially considering he is doing the impossible and appearing to get stronger after 4-5 hrs on a court. Alongside this Fuentes business, which could be embarassing for a number of sports, this has lead to the tennis authorities implementing the biological passport programme within the last month or so. Until boxing pulls its head out of its arse on these issues people can make all kind of accusations and they'd be within their rights as there's not much of a defence at the mo.
The article on the Scene says there's no evidence that Martinez has any sort of relationship with this PED pushing doctor apart from the fact that he once had a meeting with him a few years ago or something. Until there's actually some hard evidence (e.g. failed drug test or a noticeable physical change) then we should give him and other boxers the benefit of the doubt because we don't know if he's taken anything he shouldn't.
Is it true that it costs £10,000 a test to test for HGH? Who's that Brit fighter you have heard rumours about? PM me if you want.
Djokovic wouldn't be someone I'd immediately suspect of using the gear - I just think he's supremely fit and looks after himself properly. A certain clay court specialist though on the other hand.... pretty certain that these 'injuries' are well timed, shall we say. As much as I like and respect the bloke, there's clearly something fishy going on. Especially considering it took all of about 7 seconds to appear to be close to his best.
If you consider that Nadal went from being a very talented player with some deficiencies, to an absolute beast - it does give cause for consideration.
speaks volumes that Nadal comes back from a 8 month knee injury and adds 10mph on to his serve. misses a lot of tournaments only to come back in blistering form for the majors.
