Fighters who either got you out or there, or got laid out themselves. No real middle ground. Rocky Gannon is a good, somewhat obscure example. He was knocked out in the first round 4 times, and only 2 of his 11 losses went the distance. Enzo Maccarinelli is a great example for an active fighter. A chinny banger who was knocked out spectacularly in almost all of his losses, and almost went out there trying to decapitate his opponents. Who else?
Probably the best answer possible. Anyone ever see Sellers vs Carl Thompson or Alex Stewart? ****ing guy.
Merqui Sosa - if he didn't always stop his opponent or gotten stopped it was more due 2 his and his opponents' toughness and quality than due 2 anything else . He boxed 4 a short period against Glen Johnson , but he was shot by then . Lloyd Marshall Bob Satterfield was already mentioned - but was also 1 of my 1st guesses Alfonso Zamora Edison Miranda - usually Alejandro Berrio Did Manny Pacquiao take a step backwards since his pre featherweight days ? George Foreman in his prime . Earnest Shavers . Julian Jackson at least up to the 1st rd against McCallum . Gerald McClellan , usually , but not always . Carmen Basilio . Doug Jones - quite . Corrie Sanders , Xcept against Ross Puritty .
Bob Satterfield Tommy Morrison Earnie Shavers Ray Mancini (not a reference to the Kim fight) Du Koo Kim (honestly not intending to be some bad joke about the Mancini fight) Thomas Hearns at times (namely the Hagler, Duran, and Barkley fights) Luis Firpo
Beat me to it. But one of his opponents wasn't too far behind him. Joe Beckett won 15 of 20 by KO and of his 9 losses 7 were by knockout including 2 to Carpentier inside a minute and a half.
Mahyar Monshipour....he went rounds early in his career, but once he started hitting the international level, was the definition of kill or be killed. None of his fights except for his last outing against Moreno went the distance once he got to the European and World level. One of my favorite unsung action fighters.
