Yes, but Calzaghe landed almost NOTHING altogether. And Hopkins landed alot more than nothing.

I had Mosley up a round going into the 12th round.

Consistency is what won Mosely the fight vs Mayorga.
Mosely consistently and round after round landed the cleaner and more telling blows.

There were very few clean telling shots landed by Mayorga against Mosely.

With Hopkins-Calzaghe, I think if one were to pick 3 or 4 of the most telling shots of the fight, Hopkins may have landed those.....
....but he was'nt landing those telling shots on a round by round consistent basis, which is how a fight is scored.
One round is gone, you go to the other and score it independently from the others.

Hopkins did'nt get it done that way, thus why he lost to Calzaghe.

Hopkins workrate against his better oppostion over the past few years has been **** poor.
More often than not, you're not going to get rewarded by judges when you dont have the workrate to back it up.

Mayorga's workrate was a little better than Mosely's, but Mosely's was far from having a poor workrate himself.....add to that that Mosely not only landed the harder cleaner shots, he actually landed more, and at a higher connect %.

.....and I'm not going by HBO's compubox....I hate their stats....I think in many cases they employ biased dummies to push buttons.
I'm going but what I saw with my own two eyes!

Sound workrate, cleaner and harder connects, and a much better connect % got it done for SSM!

Apparently some people here score for sloppy flurries that land on arms and gloves, clinching, holding and hitting, and rabbit punches.

Based on the outcome of Hopkins/Calzaghe, apparently they do. Particularly in relation to flurries that land on arms and gloves, and rabbit punches. That's 99.8% of what Calzaghe did, without exaggeration, and most people like to insist that Calzaghe won that fight by several rounds. I agree with what you're saying though.

mayorga looked like a damn maniac

a drunk at a bar who had been escorted out and picked a fight wiht the first person they saw because they were angry

he had no technique or skill and was just thoring a bunch of random over hand clubbing punches that really didnt connect at all... he won like the first round and the rest was shane... clear as crystal

Bizarro world scoring where landing less, and landing less clean or effective punches wins. I can only assume this is done with golf scoring.

He'd make a damn fine drummer with those type of punches he does so often. Give him some sticks, skin, a sound board, and call Ac/DC.

Thats great except for one thing: HE GOT KNOCKED THE **** OUT! So it really doesn'r matter now does it. And to top it off Mayorga didn't complain but complimented Moseley, so boo hoo.
