Why is it always compared? Why not compare baseball with football, they both play with balls so they must be the same right?

Yea they should have let Kimbo finish the takedown of the ref.

Kimbo was out of it, grabbing the legs of the ref, if he had his wits he would have realized the legs he was holding had PANTS on them.

All I think it reveals is that, given how hard heavyweight fighters can punch, anyone can beat just about anyone, given a good shot that happens to land.

I don't think it lessens Slice any more than Wlad was lessened by Sanders, or Tyson was lessened by Douglas.

Its the same Kimbo that he was before, its just that he happened to get caught. And given that these guys fight with those small gloves, I am not suprised he was TKOed. Can happen to the best of them.

What is so shocking about this? I don't get it. :blood

This doesn't reflect too well on Ray Mercer.

You cannot compare that performance to any performance of Mike Tyson. Tyson has never been laid out by a jab again Douglas. The problem is that Slice got caught by a punch that was more like a paw/jab with not much intention as the guy was actually throwing a kick and going backwards; it made the punch look like it had much less impact than what it really had.

Not true. There is a reason Kimbo immediately took him to the ground and avoided all stand up.

I've watched the video numerous times and can barely see the punch...must have caught him in a sweet spot.

Mercer was way passed his prime in an alien sport---

Mercer was a very good boxer ask Tommy Morrison :yep

I kind of feel bad for Kimbo .....he was used ....granted he was paid well, but he also gets a lot of undeserved hatred for doing what anyone in his position would have done.

Have any of you MMA manfeet fan fanboys ever watched Douglas-Tyson? Tyson took all kinds of punishment for 10 rounds, and only got rocked by a Douglas Uppercut that would have made the Current PRIDE and UFC HW Champs **** their pants. And he still managed to get up, even after Douglas landed a hook and two ugly crosses, thrown with Bad Intentions.

I am not a MMA fanboy, as I think its all bull****, plain and simple. I hate the stuff, actually. MMA is not one TENTH as demanding as boxing is. Period. Its a mere fad that will dry up and blow away, all too soon. And good riddance.

Anyway.........I was merely comparing the mentioned fights to this MMA fiasco, cause it should not be that big of a shock, given that this is fighting, and ANYone can, and will, get beaten, and beaten badly, if they stay at it, regardless of HOW good they are.

That is just the odds of continually fighting with someone constantly trying to take you head off. Eventually, someone WILL take you head off, no matter if you are Kimbo, Wlad, Dempsey, or Josh Cobb.

Granted, someone beat Kimbo earlier in his career than was expected/hoped for by his promoters, but, if not last night, it would have happened, eventually. Afterall, this IS fighting and the other man is trying to take you out. Eventually, if you fight long enough, someone will get the job done, no matter who you are.

Kimbo lost to a small white guy with pink hair. Hilarious. Just watched the vid on youtube and wow what a joke that guy is.

Kimbo vs Kevin Spacey next please.
