I can't understand how anyone can even give this Kimbo Slice guy a chance against Ray Mercer. Sure Mercer is 46 years old and shot, and this is an MMA fight. However, anyone who has seen Kimbo Slice fight knows what he is really all about. Yes the guy is big and strong, 6-3 about 240lbs and probably juiced up. And yes he can hit hard. But against who? If you look at the guys Slice has fought most of them look like they don't have any fighting skill at all. The one guy that did have a bit of skill, the Boston cop actually beat Slice. And in the other fights Slice has shown that he has no stamina at all. After about 2 mins of fighting he is dead tired. Which brings me to this:

A couple of friends that I know who live in Miami, FL and train for leisure in some of the boxing gyms there have actually seen Slice come in and work out. He hits the heavy bag and punching mitts and occasionally spars. They have all told me that he is just a one round fighter that tiers after a few minutes.

A few years back, Slice actually sparred with a washed up, old ex cruiser weight champ Uriah Grant. After holding his own in the first round, he got completely hammered in the second round by Grant. Apparently he got beat up so bad by Grant that he couldn't make it through the end of the second round. His face was all busted up and he was really hurt. Grant was just starting to break a sweat and warm up.

Now if an old Cruiser weight like Uriah Grant can do that to him in sparing imagine what an old heavyweight like Mercer can do to him!

Shannon Briggs beat Mercer and he has about the same stanima as Kimbo ,so that might not be a problem.

Power of the internet. Fair play to him. If a man can make money he should.

Kimbo would lose a boxing match in a bad way, but this isn't a boxing match, and while Kimbo seems to be taking his training very seriously with top MMA trainers like Shawn Tompkins and Bas Rutten, Mercer seems to think that his boxing will be enough. If Mercer doesn't get serious he could wind up getting beat pretty bad.

Kimbo has a better chance of being a MMA fighter than he does a good pro boxer. It wouldn't surpise me at all in a year or two that we hear about Kimbo schooling guys in the uFC.

I don't care who wins personally, it's not going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things is it?

I don't understand all the hatting on Slice though, I think it's great that for such a small outlay he's become something of a star at his age. Respect to him I hope he makes a fortune.
