to be honest Hoppa vs Kimbo would be a good matchup, given kimbo only had 1 fight. Given Kimbos age, they want to accelerate his rise up the ranks and a fighter with a 12-5 record would be perfect.
Everyone who's worked with Kimbo has confirmed that he is a natural athlete. The guy played College Football and was a very promising prospect until his personal life got in the way. The people who trained him for MMA were amazed how fast he picked up new things. They say he's got a really good work ethic for training. There should be some vids on youtube of him training...
Kimbo first boxing outing was pure farce. Seen the video and BoxRec says it lasted 17 seconds. I guess they had to find someone first up they knew Kimbo could beat though.
thats what i meant Francis... he is a natural striker and a natural athlete... was a talented football player before MMA and obviously has a perfect build for it, just needs to work on stamina and conditioning... i feel he probably lacks the heart to go 8, 10 or 12 rounds
he gets a lot of **** but the guy has a little bit of substance to go with the style. look at the names hes beat. tank abbott, ray mercer, houston alexander, james thompson. theyre all seasoned, vastly experienced professional fighters and tough tough guys. Not just any bum off the street could walk in and wip those guys. hell never be champ but to be honest id be stoked to have had the career that he has so far.
hoppa would knock this guy into next week! i'm not convinced he'd even get past sonny bill of all people. he's just a novelty, that's all.
Yep...a novelty he is but I bet blokes like Jamie Meyer will be all over him...and plenty of people will front up or tune in to check him out...a good thing I reckon.. Put him in with Kirby...Kirby deserves a good match like that..:thumbsup

By Sailor Sharkey - Alex Leapai, Australia's leading Heavyweight Boxer has scoffed at American Promoter Gary Shaw's comments that he would like his Heavyweight charge Kimbo Slice "to fight in Australia possibly against the likes of the Logan City hitman. "After one or two rounds with me he will retire from Boxing and go back to beating up "Crack Heads" on YouTube". Leapai currently stands at 23-3-3 (18 KO).. Leapai's last fight was in Jakarta, Indonesia against former World Heavyweight Title contender Peter Okhello who 4 years previous lost a points decision to then WBC Heavyweight Champ Oleg Maskaev. Leapai scored a devastating 3rd round knockout against a man who had only lost once inside the distance in a career of 25 fights with 20 wins, 18 by way of knockout. Leapai taunted: "Please bring this pretender to our shores and not just talk big.
