Kimbo has to be the biggest hype job in professional sports right now. Coverboy for Espn magazine, primetime fight on CBS, and they're matching him with a cop who has won one professional fight. If anyone wants to debate this, name someone who has recieved more hype by doing less as a pro than Kimbo has.
Agreed, Bush is a hype job, but he plays against the best. Kimbo fights cans. If Bush got the same hype but played in Arena league you might have a point.
,,,,,,people love to hate........ he said himself(kimbo) ...he's a small squirrel in the game.... gives respect to the fighters that diss him..becuase .. he knows...he was at the right place ..in time... and witout the fighters b4 him...he wouldnt be here.... he juss sticks a nerve in the causal or new fan.... will he get beat..eventual..probably... but he comes to fight.... thats what people like... everybody is right..... about other fighters deserving the light...but that door has to be opened even more ..so other fighters can open other doors......and ..the people...like kimbo..becuz win or lose he comes to fight...plain and simple....and he has ..."it"..charisma..... people have to realize its a business...aswell.... as long as the sport grows and the casual fan becomes more..educated on the sport..the other fighters will get there due..... hypejob.....hard to say... but i give him credit....trains hard...with bas..taking it serious..and is capitalizing on his opportunity..... dont let **** pass you by...if you can seize it..... some love to hate ..others hate to love.... jealousy...is bad for the soul....
he was awesome in college, you said it, but they were kept telling us that he would dominate NFL without playing a single down
I don't hate Kimbo one bit, if I were in his shoes I'd do the excact same thing, make as much money as possible while the getting is good. He's out of prison and making money clean now. It's the mainstream media and his fans that should know better. He's had the most handpicked opponents I've ever seen in MMA. One of boxing's biggest problems is overprotected, overhyped fighters and mismatches on Pay-per-View. I don't want to see that happen to MMA too.
You can't compare Reggie Bush to Kimbo Slice, Bush was a great college player but Kimbo was never a amateur/Olympic boxer so all this Kimbo hype is just based on a few street fights.
I thought it was pretty funny, hes obviously not making a direct comparison, just making fun of the Reggie Bush hype.
