They seem to market him as more of a freak show than anything on Showtime, but from what little I seen of him, he's at least exciting to watch fight. I could see him crossing over to the UFC in a year or two, especially if he keeps winning and becoming more popular in the united states.

Does no one else think the Cantrell fight was rigged? Kimbo isnt terrible but my GRANDMOTHER could last longer with him than cantrell did. He was tapping before he even HALFWAY attempted to even get guard...

I don't think so, that guy had lost 4 fights in a row in about the same fashion...i'm sure Tank will put up a better fight....maybe even throw a punch back or two.

I think it was more of a panic or him not wanting to be there.

If Kimbo made it big in the UFC - it could be damaging to the credibility of the sport - but as mentioned above - Lesnar does have stellar amateur wrestling credentials.

However Lesnar is in for a rude wake up call against Frank Mir. He is in over his head against Frank Mir's submissions.

With all due respect to Ray Mercer (who couldn't defend against the most basic choke in the book showing he had no idea what MMA was about) - but Slice will keep doing well as long as they feed him tomato cans. As soon as he steps up his competition - he will be in for another Sean Gannon-like beatdown. Any of the Brazilian heavyweights would steal this guy's milk money. Kimbo could not beat Sean Gannon in a psuedo-mma fight - where the rules were bent in his favor. Kimbo is a sideshow attraction in mma. He is entertaining and people pay to watch him which is very important - but don't expect to see him topping any P4P lists any time soon.

Yeah, but with proper training and experience I think he will go on to do ok in MMA. He's taking his career seriously, so we ought to take him seriously, at least until he gets exposed.

What isnt in doubt is that physically he's very impressive, definitly one of the strongest heavyweights in MMA. The raw power, KO power, and suprising athleticism, makes him one to watch even if he is 33.

Actually, Kimbo's training with Bas Rutten is the best thing he could do. If he stays dedicated - he very well could be dangerous in time.

If Mighty Mo losses to a 6-2 fighter in his pro boxing debut then I can't see Kimbo going farther then Mighty Mo did. Mighty Mo has a great punch and he knocked out Frans Botha in one round. Botha initially went down with a counter right hand when Botha tried to throw a thai kick at him.
I would like to see Kimbo in an MMA bout with Butterbean or Bob Sapp though. I'd give him a 50-50 chance against Bean but not much against Sapp although Sapps endurance is about the same as Kimbo's.
