let kimbo get his revenge and itd be a good circus fight with tons of haymakers

then again i am a fan of butterbean fights and super heavyweights vs lightweights (keith hakney!)

Lord have mercy on our souls. That shouldn't even be the main event in a high school gymnasium.

It's the perfect fight for Kimbo. It has a built in story and the risk is lower than facing a full time professional MMA fighter.

Elite XC's promotion of Kimbo is a circus act. Come see the world's strongest fighter - KIMBO!

As a MMA fighter, you can't rank him amongst the world's top heavyweights - but there's no denying that he has an appeal and a large fan base.:bbb

I would like to see a rematch with Gannon right now. The guy is not ready for anyone in the top ten or twenty so he needs to build his resume for a while.

Please hold for obligatory Mike Tyson reference in a Kimbo Slice discussion - -:smoke

Even Mike Tyson fed on bums, shepherds and night watchman as he worked to build up his resume.

And anyone that leaves me one of those bull**** one word / one smiley responses without backing up their argument can eat a flaming bag of **** in advance. :hi:

    :patsch

    Only joking.:D

I understand that he shouldn't be thrown in with top 10 opponents as he clearly doesn't have the credentials or talent or a guy like say Brock Lesnar. But Sean Gannon? Come on. He's just about as low as you go. He's a step down for Kimbo at a time where he should be making a step up in competition even if it is a small step up (like baby steps).

There is only a few HW's in Elite XC that they can safely feed him, I guess Gannon meets that criteria. those of you who watched the original gannon-Kimbo match must have noticed Gannon really wasn't a good fighter but he lasted long enough for kimbo to gas out....and that's all that happened.

It would probably sell more than a Kimbo-Rogers match.

    Good fight for Kimbo, imo.

He isn't ready for top notch opposition...and JUSTIFIABLY SO!!!!

MMA is a verrry skilled sport, so how can anyone think that a ****ing streetfighter can step into the cage and compete with ANY guy with MMA experience?

Kimbo Slice is a natural athlete and fighter ...even at his advancing age. BUT, he needs to train to the MMA fighting experience. Needs to continue to work with Bas and improve his overall skills and cardio.

He needs at least 6-8 more fights, against decent but not worldclass opposition before he faces anyone remotely close to the top guys in the world.

    Period.

    Here's my thing.

Sure, he's new and shouldn't get put in with champions right away. But, if he's going to learn the sport...do it where everyone else does. Do it in small shows and in high school gymnasiums. If you're going to fight in one of the biggest organizations on national TV, you've given up your right to "learn" and get "freebies."

It's like joining the NHL and saying, "Don't bodycheck me because I'm only a high school player."

If you don't want to play with the big boys, don't put yourself in the spotlight.

Lesnar leapt immediately to the UFC, and he's gotten treated like anyone trying to skip the learning stage and going straight to the top should: He's been challenged. He's been tested. He's been thrown to the wolves and left to sink or swim.

Lesnar is going to carve his own path or he's going to fail. Kimbo's going to get driven up his path on a golf cart while two-bit hookers dressed like "dancers" throw flowers at him.

very true, but don't forget kimbo himself hasn't suggested he is the man, it was Gary Shaw who really promoted him and made him to be what he is today.......I don't hate on kimbo because he doesn't appear to be arrogant or cocky or nothing like that. He has been put in a situation and he is taking advantage of it as best he can. He is training and working hard but it is what it is and most mma fans really don't expect much from him.

The guy is making a good buck just from beating up a few dweebs off the street, my hat is off for him.

It is what it is. I dont see a problem with this fight. Anyway Gannon made himself a name briefly in the UFC off the back of his beating of Kimbo. He was subsequently annihilated.
