When he fought the 'easiest' fighters, like Spinks and Ouma, he looked at his worst, so if he continued taking easier fights, he might have lost. Maybe that's why he took the hard fights, because he knows he fights better.

When you look at the fighters Taylor has looked good against since Hopkins, it's been against relatively open, tall fighters that leave themselves open. Pavlik was upright and in Taylor's hitting zone, so was Froch. They made Taylor's one-dimensional offense look electric.

Here Taylor is fighting a crafty, cagey, well-guarded fighter who will try and play a game of chess in there. I think this may expose Taylor's lack of genuine ring intelligence as Taylor will think "yipee, I can coast here and not gas!" however Taylor will take it too far and be too INACTIVE and end up giving up early rounds that he should theoretically be winning.

In the second half of the fight Abraham will start breaking him down a bit more, Taylor will gas while having some success, and Abraham will win a decision in a pretty dull fight.

70/30 Abraham by KO I would think. JT isn't the best mover, I can't see him staying out of range of Abraham's bombs all night. And even if he did manage to do that for most of the fight, he would inevitablely gas as per usual...

If Taylor can't beat Abraham he should quit boxing.

I agree 100%. Ever since this fight was announced I've said the same thing. If JT loses to Abraham it means he is shot to ****. If he beats AA, it means he is not shot, and that is all it means. However, if JT does win, I think it will give him a much needed boost in confidence, and that he will have a good shot at making the final. Apart from Kessler the competition isn't all that stiff.

I agree. Abraham is one of the most overrated guys in boxing today.

I just never saw it in Abraham. I just didn't get the hype he has a big punch with a low work rate and a **** resume. I wish Kelly would have gotten the chance to hand him his first loss instead of Taylor this Saturday because it would have been in devastating fashion. I truly believe Kelly would have stopped Abraham in 9 rounds or less.

No ****! I simply do not understand how he gets so much hype. Sauerland did an excellent job of garnering media attention by shouting Pavlik's name. They sure as **** could not get attention by talking about the guys AA actually fought!

I'm shocked at how low some peoples opinions of Abraham are on ESB.

    Time will tell :deal

The guy has a **** resume and is really untested at the elite level. Not to mention he's moving up in weight. Abraham has a lot to prove and facing Taylor is a start.

His resume isn't up to much, but he's getting into the phase of his career where those kind of fights will happen for him. 10 defenses of his title shouldn't be taken lightly either. I didn't see Pavlik busting a nut to face him, and its not like the Middleweight division was stacked with names. Plus, he's German, so fighting no-marks is just how they roll.

I've always been impressed with Abraham's style, he's tough as nails. Fights with both hands, high guard, tight defense, good chin, amazing power, great body puncher etc. Question marks over his stamina and workrate, but he should be more comfortable at 168 and won't have to kill himself to make weight. So that should help to improve those aspects of his game.

really hope jt can win this one. If he doesn't he's going to have no confidence/drive to go into the next fights. I think a few people have pushed jt aside after his recent losses but he's still a decent fighter and hopefully can pull it out the bag.

Pavlik and Froch didn't ruin JT. They didn't permanently damage him at all. Only a Pav fan wouls say such things lol... Sure they won by stoppage, but more so because JT ran out of gas, and was worn down...not becuase he was beaten to a pulp. It could be said Chavez ruined Taylor, not Froch and Pav ruining JT lol...

Never to late, the tournament will negate your opinion about resume I guess.

    If all goes as planned Abraham's first 3 fights will be;

Jermain Taylor; lost 3 of his last 4 and got knocked out twice.

Andre Dirrell; his best win is a guy Zuniga knocked out, and he will probably be coming off a KO loss to Froch.

Carl Froch; a man who is so easy to hit you'd have to practice missing in order to connect under 40%.

Now, please try to convince me that isn't a Sauerland set-up.
