Arthur Abraham is suppose to fight on March 14th. As far as I know they still have not named an opponent. Tom Tocca provides a lot of good "insider" type info on Arthur. According to Tom the most likely opponent is Enrique Ornales or Lujaun Simon. Anyone heard anything new?

    I just found this:

Sources have told 15rounds.com that IBF Middleweight champion, Arthur Abraham will make the ninth defense of his crown against USBA Middleweight champion, LaJuan Simon on March 14th in Germany.

The battle will be a fight between undefeated fighters as Abraham is now 28-0 with twenty-three knockouts and is coming off a sixth round stoppage over Raul Marquez.

Simon of Philadelphia will be getting his crack at a world title with a record of 21-0-2 with twelve knockouts. Simon is coming off third round stoppage over Jose Spearman on December 5th at The Legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia.

Apperantly not! Simon's last opponent was Jose Spearman, so let me give a few details. After McKart was off for nearly 2 years, he decided to continue fighting, but could no longer make 154. In his first fight EVER at 160, and after a long lay off, he boxed Spearman's ears off even though Spearman weighed in at the SMW limit. Spearman has been KOed 8 times!

So it's still up in the air? The article was dated 1/31. Nothing newer?

Somebody please tell Arthur not to screw things up like Pavlik did!!!
The main reason we did not see KP/AA in January is because of Pav's problems with finding an opponent for last fall. He ended up with BHop, and we know what happened there! It would really SUCK if something silly happened to AA.

I guess no fight with Pavlik anytime soon the, oh well, at least Abraham's keeping busy.

I wish Pavlik and/or Sturm would have the guts to settle things with Arthur... :(

Well, not sure we should hope for Ornales, but he sounds better than LuAnne. :D

There is a serious lack of talent at 160.You have Pavlik,AA,Felix( i will never take on a tough opponent )Sturm, Winky ( i deserve a huge payday even though i am boring) wright, and Paul Williams. There's not much else out there. The better prospects like Golovkin and Lee are not ready yet and the ' contenders ' like Duddy,Lorenzo,Rubio etc aren't up to much.
Team Pavlik got hammered for a potential Duddy match up but he will make the fight exciting at least. The fact is there is no one else decent other than Williams or Winky to fight any of the belt holders who btw should be fighting each other at this point.

Agreed! The real problem is a lack of talent at 160. It seems clear to me that sauerland is trying to set AA up with a fairly tall opponent, but there isn't much to choose from. Simon and Ornelas are both listed at 6'1". Arthur has not faced anyone over 6' since Ikeke. However, neither of these guys represent decent preparation for KP.

shitting on abrahams possible opponent is easy.

abraham does and will take who is put in front of him whether it be sturm or pavlik.

it is not abraham holding things up at 160 and whoever abraham fights it is just a stay busy fight while we hope a bigger fight comes along.

i like pavlik and abraham, neither are ever in a bad fight.

i do not know who simon is , never seen him fight , .
