Nice post. To Team Pavlik's credit, Kelly, his father and Jack are interested in unifications, but Arum has the final word, and of course he knows Kelly is easy to hit and Abraham has a sick ****ing punch. A promoter's job is to put on the best looking fight with the lowest possible risk, and after Hopkins, I see Arum following that rule like a priest. What you said about the Bute option is interesting. Of all 168 fights, I see Kessler and Bute having the most success vs. Abraham. Lucian is quick, mobile, not easy to hit and clearly has the size advantage, but of course stamina and chin can be an issue. But wow, going right at Bute would be a huge risk for Sauerland (but anything is possible after AA knocked out Miranda before his crowd). Froch, Bika, Andrade, Balzsay, I'd favor AA vs. all of them. Taylor is very good, a class above AA in skill level, but he allows himself to get abused at the ropes, and I don't think he'd like AA's style, so I wouldn't favor him vs. AA. Of course, in the end, we can expect Team Pavlik to avoid Abraham (huge credit if they won't) so he'll move up by the end of the year. Whether it's gonna be Bute or another puncher, Andrade or Bika for example, is a good question. But not getting the Pavlik-Abraham fight because of politics would be absolutely disappointing... hopefully HBO will apply a little pressure, but even that is hard to see as Williams-Wright will be on HBO WCB.
Don't plan on seeing PAv-Abraham anytime soon folks. When Valero proves himself along with a couple of other fighters Arum has signed, then Arum will not care if he risks Pav anymore in big fights. He has been cautious with all of his fighters including Pac, and if we don't get PAv-Abraham...blame Arum.
Wasn't DLH considered a huge favorite in his fight with Paq? Hatton is a "gimmie". Hopkins was a "gimmie". I'd thank you for "outing yourself, but you do that quite often anyhow. :thumbsup
You have the gi-normous balls of a squirrel in your avy, and you post this garbage of a post lol...!!!??? Only fans like you even thought Dlh had a chance. I almost posted the exact round PAc would ko Dlh Hermant, Hermit or what ever your name is...
Well, you can edit my post to make your point, but since it is right below the original, it doesn't help. I have never been a DLH fan. But he was the heavily favored. No? I just pointed out your whole case of Arum protecting fighters is flawed with OBVIOUS examples. Arum would feed his mother to wolves if the purse was right. Objectivity is clearly not your intent anyhow.
As a fan, when you look at odds, and who is heavily favored...(who favors these fighters lol)...you are just that...a fan. Me being involved in this business for a long time, having fought pro, and knowing what you may not know...(which doesn't make me any better than you) leads me to believe that this post by you is nothing more than top of the line, greade A garbage from you lol...
The elbow inury kept Pavlik away from a lot of his normal strength training and most of the extra weight training they had planned. This has been well documented by independent parties such as Thomas Hauser.
