Watched his fight with the Japan-based American Charlie Ota a couple of days ago and I thought Davidson looked decent. He certainly didn't deserve a split decision (Aussie judge, tut tut ), but he was close to winning the fight in the 1st round when he floored Ota heavily. If it had happened 20 seconds earlier then I have no doubt he would have scored the stoppage. Anyway, he seemed to have some nice skills - a good jab, movement etc. - good power and a decent chin, but he just seems lazy (at least in this fight). This was the first fight I had seen of him, so was just wondering what your thoughts were of Davidson as you guys no doubt know more about him :good
You could say he's one of our best prospects ATM. His strength is his double jab and speed...he throws most punches with authority...nice straight left as well. I would not call him lazy however I did miss the last fight.:good How did you score the fight?
I wasn't really scoring it, but I wouldn't have gave him more than 4 rounds I don't think. The two scorecards for Ota seemed about right IMO. He can certainly come back again I feel :good
Maybe he needs more work or had an off night....maybe it was a step too far...I guess time will tell.
Lazy is harsh but perhaps pair. Certainly at times has that laconic, just cruising along appearance, particularly in a couple of earlier wins of his I saw.
