Vic is on a roll right now and it will take a very good fighter to stop him and i dont think Agbeko is that fighter.

    Vic by brutal KO.

You gotta love Darchinyan. He's giving Agbeko a LOT of respect, training for the toughest fight of his life, but also very confident and let his words fly a little bit. I'm not sure he'll come out victorious, Agbeko is quite underrated and naturally much bigger and stronger than Vic, but that's why he chose King Kong. Even in losing, he deserves a lot of respect and fan support, because he's constantly facing tough elite opposition unlike the other 99%. Here's his latest interview:

IBF bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko is a good champion scoring 22 KOs in 27 fights. Does his power at 118 pounds worry you? Will you be the better puncher?

Joseph Agbeko is a good champion. He is strong and can fight, but I am not worried about his power because I have a plan to use it against him, and when he feels what I will throw back at him, he will be looking to run and survive. I plan to punish him, break him down, and knock him out. I will be definitely be the better, bigger and harder puncher.

Agbeko won the IBF title by defeating Luis Alberto Perez in 2007. Perez was a good champion having won five IBF title bouts. Did you see tape of Agbeko’s title win? Your thoughts on this win please.

He looked very good against a good fighter. I think Perez tried too hard and he got caught up early. When you get caught early it can change a fight. King Kong kept up the speed but remember he didn’t KO, it was a TKO, the referee stopped the fight. I will show Agbeko how to be knockout someone when he joins Pacheco, Gabi, Maldonado, Kirilov and Mijares as fighters who were never knocked out until they faced me.

In Agbeko’s last defense he was extended over twelve rounds by William Gonzalez scoring a majority decision. What are your thoughts on his win over Gonzalez? Was it a good decision?

Agbeko clearly won the fight against Gonzalez. He was the busier and more aggressive fighter. He comes to fight, which is good, it suits my style.

Agbeko’s only loss was back in 2004 to Wladimir Sidorenko. Did you see a tape of this fight, and what are your thoughts? Will you be second boxer to defeat Agbeko?

I have seen all of Agbeko’s last few fights. Against Sidorenko he should have won the fight easily. He was a lot more busier in every round. That’s why my training has been very thought out, I don’t underestimate Agbeko for one second, I put in my head that I am fighting an undefeated Mike Tyson, and I know I have to be at my best. That’s why I know I will destroy Agbeko. It is very dangerous for fighters like Agbeko to fight me with this extra weight. My punchers are harder and faster and my energy is a lot better. My fans will see the best “Raging Bull” in action for this fight and for every fight I have in the future.

You have showed oustanding power at super flyweight stopping Mijares and Arce. Will your power be as dominant as a bantamweight, 118 pounds?

Like I said before, I will be much stonger, much faster and ready to go 30 rounds in 3 weeks. Agbeko will be not be able to stop the “Raging Bull.” He said he wants to send me back to the super flyweight division. He will be praying that I was still in super flyweight division after he feels not only what my left will do to him, but also the power that my right has. Don’t be surprised if I knock him out with my right hand. I will be turning this “King Kong” into a chimpanzee.

If you defeat Agbeko you will be the only second boxer from Australia to win world titles in three weight divisions. Your old trainer Jeff Fenech being the first. Your thoughts please?

It will be a great honor to win three world titles. Many people said I was ready for retirement after the “Filipino Fraud” beat me and you all know who you are! But to win my seventh world title will be fantastic. I get a chance to do what Jeff Fenech has done and what Kostya did when he unified his division. But to achieve what they both have done… its a great honor. I am dedicating this fight to my family, my friends and the people who make it possible to live this dream, my loyal fans.

You stated that you would unify the bantamweight division. Your thoughts on other champions sucg as WBA Moreno, WBO Montiel and WBC Hasegawa.

I think they are great fighters, but I know I can beat all of them. Montiel jumped in the ring after I beat Arce. I beat Gorres even though I was robbed with a draw and Gorres should have beaten Montiel. I want Nonito Donaire to step up to 115 or 118. I have all my belts still at 115 and I am waiting to show what a fraud he is. My day will come when I knock him out and everyone will realize he is nothing. Just remember Rahman against Lennox, we all know what happens next.

How many years at the top for Vic Darchinyan?

Ask that question in a few years time. The “Raging Bull” will be around a long time yet.

This should be a fun yet explosive fight. I'm glad Vic is finally main eventing though...nice to see the 115-118 lbers getting some due from the networks.

Joseph 'King Kong' Agbeko vs. 'Raging Bull' Vic Darchinyan heats up! Latest conference call comments:

    JOSEPH AGBEKO

“In boxing you have to fight the best to be the best and I just want Vic to know that this is the fight of my life. I know Vic Darchinyan picked to fight me because he thinks he can have his way with me but I just want him to know that this is the biggest mistake he has ever made in his career because he’s going to get the worst beating of his career.

“Why didn’t he talk like this when Nonito Donaire beat him? I wanted him to talk more and I want him to realize that I’m going to beat him more than Donaire beat him.

“I know I’m better than Vic Darchinyan. I know he can punch. I’m really, really ready for his punches. I know he’s never been on the receiving end of someone who punches like me.

“Vic is always talking about his power and about how he’s this and that but I’ve watched a couple of his fights and I never saw that power. He’s always fought guys that are afraid of him and he did what he wanted with them. But in this fight I’m going to do what I want to do and beat him the way I want.

“I’m going to let him do whatever he wants to do in this fight because I can do whatever he does better than him.

    VIC DARCHINYAN

“I think after this fight they are going to change my opponent’s name to Joseph ‘Chimpanzee’ Agbeko. This is going to be the biggest mismatch. Where would you like me to hurt you most? In the body or in the face?

“I can’t spend my career just defending, defending, defending. I have to move up in weight and go after more titles. I have the power to demolish anyone. I’m going to keep moving up.

“I’ve seen Agbeko’s fights and they don’t impress me. You will see, nothing compares to my power. I will knock him out with my power. I can open my jaw and let him punch it and he still won’t hurt me.

“I hope he’s working hard and training extra hard for this fight. I don’t want it to be an easy fight. I want to be your nightmare after this fight and not before because I want you to get a good night’s sleep.

I can't see this fight beating Ortiz vs Maidana as my FOTY.

Doesn't mean it can't be up there.
