I think Vic is going to stay with Shaw, he's loyal. I also think that if Vic instructs Gary, Shaw will do whatever he's asked, that's why the Mijares and the Agbeko fights happened. If there will be no other big fight left on the table for Vic but NonAire, expect Bob Arum to boycott the rematch. Having that win is much better to Donaire's marketability than risking a loss in a rematch, I mean it's not easy to think with Bob Arum's head. Avanging a defeat is a beautiful thing in the sport, but isn't required for greatness. Vic can put that loss behind on Saturday, but that's absolutely not a walk in the park.
DAMN GOOD CARD!!! welterweight Miguel Angel Rodriguez SC Ivan Kirpa 12 bantamweight Joseph Agbeko SC Vic Darchinyan 12 lightweight Antonio DeMarco SC Anges Adjaho 12 cruiserweight Steve Cunningham SC Wayne Braithwaite 12 cruiserweight Francisco Palacios SC ? 10 super featherweight John Jackson SC ? 10 heavyweight Bermane Stiverne SC ? 8 super featherweight Archie Ray Marquez SC Jason Hayward 6 super bantamweight Victor Fonseca SC Mauricio Pastrana 6 lightweight Angelo Santana SC ? 6 cruiserweight Omari Braxton SC ? 4 welterweight Lanard Lane SC Carlos Garcia --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I go with Agbeko by UD
Vic won't be the bigger man, and Agbeko is tough and can bang a bit. However, I do beleive that stylistically Vic has the advantage. Agbeko is a bit wild and throws a lot of big looping shots. I say Vic catches him with shots that come right down the pipe; early and often.
Here's a nice verbal exchange between Darchinyan and Agbeko: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K3h7dhQKhE Darchinyan - "I will demolish you." Agbeko: "I will beat you worse than Nonito Donaire did!"
I'm really up in the air with this one! King Kong is no joke! Neither is Vic. But how will he handle the jump up in weight? Vic has improved both defensively and offensively but King Kong is a very good technical fighter where Vic is a bit unorthodox. I'm going out on a limb and saying I think Kong gets the KO by round 8 or 9 in a great slugfest!
