I dont see it myself. I respect Randy as a fighter and for what he has achieved at his age. But the facts remain up against the best fighters at heavy or even light heavy he would have been toast. He's just a gutsy hardnosed guy who comes to give his best and generally makes for decent fights.

Rampage knocks him out. Hendo does the same. Couture "should" beat Lindland.

This thread is so stupid I though it might actually entertain me, as usual I find myself dissapointed.

Boxing fanboy's are in a World of their own...

    Agree on Rampage
Toss up with Hendo but if Hendo catches him it's lights out...
    Lindland meh....don't really care....

Would have liked to have seen prime for prime Hendo versus Liddell.....

I actually think prime Hendo manhandles Chuck the same way Rampage did. Hendo has excellent hands for a wrestler and can bang with as much authority as Chuck or Page with either hand. Plus his ground control - top game - is very good. Couple that with his granite chin and i see Hendo by stoppage.

think of fightsports like becoming a doctor. both take a lot of dedication and commitment to become good, and you never learn everything.

mma is like becoming a family doctor, you learn a bit of everything.

a fight specific sport like boxing and muay thai is like becoming a surgeon, it takes a lot longer to become really good and to make it to the top of the professional ranks.

nowadays no fighter with 4 fights would win the pro version of the world title in muay thai or boxing.

Beebs is going to be crying in his cornflakes if Toney lands a right hand to the old man's jaw.

There will be no cornflakes because we would have to be in an alternate universe....one without cornflakes.

Begs the question Beebs fella, why you spend so much time on a Boxing forum when you're ripe for the MMA?

I really think the 40 y o Couture who spanked Tito was the most menacing 205lber ever. I think he'd maul all of those guys in a cage. The Hendo fight would be the most interesting. Randy by being bigger and a lot smarter would wear him down and stop him, I think. Lindland would be a fun fight too. He's probably a better wrestler than Randy or Hendo, but nowhere near the fighter obv. In a ring with Jap rules, who knows.

Because I came for the classic boxing forum and have had a short career as an ammy boxer.

Also, MMA forums tend to be better on boxing forums and boxing forums tend to be better on MMA forums.

Why do you spend time on an MMA section of a Boxing forum if you are such an idiot when it comes to MMA?

Nice. :good I want to try a hand at it myself.

This place is the best as far as Boxing is concerned...in my experience.

I spend a very, very short amount of time on the MMA forums, and I tend to believe I know a fair bit about the short having been watching it, albeit casually, for the best part of 7-8 years.

If James Toney was to knockout Randy Couture, you'd come on the next day and claim it was "a lucky punch"...and you'd be correct. :good

...Luck is sometimes a factor which is why this fight is not a foregone conclusion.

It was fun, I went from a 182lb powerlifter to a 151lb boxer in a month.

I wasn't very good; typical strong short white kid, if I may denegrate my race and height, I hit hard but got hit a lot. Never dropped though.

Yes, I was just reacting negatively to you, no harm.

I would call it unlikely rather than lucky; after all, he tried to hit him and hit him. My head would also explode with rage and confusion and many other negative emotions.

I don't care to see former Boxing world champions in the octagon and regardless of the result, Toney should get the hell out of there as quickly as possible. I feel if he hits Randy with a straight right hand it could well end things, but what's he going to do then? Get in with Mir...Lesnar...Santos? ...Give me a break.
