That's right, and they should be stopped as well.

Showing examples where the referee got it wrong doesn't mean he should have ruled this one incorrectly as well.

Also, it is not only the vision that the referee considers. He also considers the chance of long-term injury and whether the cut/swelling is having a major impact on the fight, in other words whether the opponent is taking full advantage of it and targeting it successfully.

Some fighters do an excellent job of protecting an injury (Marquez for example). Vitali was getting tagged repeatedly in that exact spot and the cut was getting worse.

 

Errr.... how? By exposing it as being either false, irrelevant or both?
