The amount of wadding doesnt prove what the trainer was thinking; plus, how many seconds could it take to pull it out? Please show us your video that shows many seconds where left in the break when the ref stopped the fight?

    ???

Is this true? I mean I take your word, but if it is, it's simply the most idiotic rule even by WBC standards. K2 won the purse bid and the loser bidder somehow gets into the driver's seat? I've never heard that one...

Since he took 1 million to drop his IBF belt so Byrd could pick it up

When a champion puts his title on the line it is not unusual at all for the champs promoter to put a clause in the contract taking options on the challengers next X number of fights if he beats his man....it helps the promoter mitigate his financial loss.

From the WBC Rules & Regualtions:

    1.4
    Options for Title Bouts.
At the request of the promoter to promote a world title fight, at the time of execution of a contract resulting from free negotiations, the challenger is required to grant one (1) option for his first title defense, in the event that he is successful in his challenge.

Not only that, watch the cutman's reaction when the referee stops it. He doesn't flinch. He just keeps doing what he was doing with Vitali's eye, that is stuffing wadding/vaseline in it.

He knew it was going to happen.

The Byrd fight wasn't an attractive proposition therefore he dropped the belt.

Nobody knows the amount of time left in the break, because in LA the doctor can call time-out during the break to observe a fighter.

This actually means Vitali's corner got more time to work on the cut between every round than they would have if the fight had occured in Vegas or NY.
