Johnson is a massive favourite to win the Prizefighter tournament. He also fancies his chances against the best British Heavies and had this to say Prizefighter brings a great challenge for me, Johnson told World Boxing News. I've been working on taking guys out in the opening rounds. I've been focusing on that and 95% of people who face me have been eating the dirt since my defeat to Vitali. Winning Prizefighter and knocking out all these guys will push my name to the top even more and I will be the heavyweight champ in the future. Johnson, who boasts 12 stoppages in 26 outings, hopes that a win in the Sky Sports televised event will enhance his reputation sufficiently to pit him against former world champion David Haye or undefeated British champion David Price later this year. I am look forward to Haye v Chisora and fighting the Hayemaker when he beats up his rival. I would also love to beat the hell out of David Price. He is nothing but another walk in the park before I get my title and you can ask Alex Leapai (Johnsons last opponent, who was stopped in nine rounds) what I mean! I plan to make the most of a very busy summer overseas and I look forward to beating the hell out of whoever tries to stands in The Kingpins way!" announced 6ft 3ins Johnson. How do you see Johnson doing against Price, Chisora and Haye respectively?
Despite his awful showing against vitali he's a skilled and quick heavyweight. He beats fury and loses to haye and price
The Leapai win impressed me. He's certainly the best of this bunch over 12 rounds. I think he'd lose to Haye, no idea about Price and 50/50 against Stella Chisora.
As soon as he gets caught with a price right hand he will go back into vitali mode. no interest in seeing it Leapai ain't that good btw
I fancy him to win Prize Fighter at a canter. Don't fancy his chances against Haye. I think once he has tasted Prices power he will go into a shell like he did against Vitali. Chisora i think he beats by a close decision. Don't like the way he talks about himself in 3rd person though...
LOL, Kingpin has an iron chin. Marked up Vitali with one arm and never looked in danger of going down himself. imo he is the best heavyweight after the Klitchko's. A healthy Solis right with him. The rest of the division is a joke.
Slightly off tangent, but I was really pissed off that Ringside only gave him 30 seconds on its show last week. He's clearly a bit of a **** and rates himself higher than his performances suggest, but he's still one of the top heavyweights in the world. Because of that, people are interested in him. Why not talk to him about his thoughts on the Vitali fight? Why not talk about his goals in boxing, his training, his future plans, etc. etc. I'd much rather have 10 minutes with him than a show full of what Spencer Oliver and Carl Froch think - we see them all the time!
I'd have preferred a proper preview of Prizefighter instead of an interview with Carl Froch's mum! Johnson should win tonight but I have my doubts over his stamina and style. Fury vs. Johnson is a 50/50 fight in my opinion so it clearly won't happen.
