Great fight IB! Every bit as good if not better than Kimura vs Tanaka.

*edit* I swear I didn't read your post that said pretty much the same thing before I posted this lol.

Garrido vs. Tachour was probably its equal for regional level determined, slug-your-guts-out action, while Lomachenko vs. Linares was the highest expression so far this year of the kind of "violent chess" that I generally prefer (a highly technical but still exciting contest with plenty of leather connecting both ways and good defense but greater offense equally on display) - but this one's up there for sure.

The commentator just interviewed them both together and pretty much all but secured a rematch single-handedly.

    Good work, sir.

Absolutely. This was hands down just as good or better than Canelo vs GGG or Kimura vs Tanaka of most recently. I'd put this main event up there against any FOTY contender without hesitation.

If the rematch is 10 rounds or more I can't see them reaching the final bell. They both only barely made it eight.

If the rematch does get made for 10 hopefully they are both able to put in serious full camps to come correct with their cardio. They both had the heart of a lion, but they were dragging ass by the 7th. Of course I believe they were both considerably injured, Mercado his right hand which he was still busting upside Vazquez's head, and Vazquez's jaw which Mercado was still busting with his busted hand  So that could lead to how tired both were by the end.
