floyd is hoping Pacquiao loses or shows decline vs. Margarito. fraudweather knows he has no chance to beat Pac now, his only hope is for Pac to show decline. even then he'll still be scared.
Race and nationality have been used to sell fights for over a 100 years. Why treat it like something Don King brought to the game?
I realise it's a business, and I get the fact that Arum is just jumping on Margarito's situation to make everyone else more money (including himself). But stick a Bradley, a Berto, or a Williams in with Pacquiao right now...and the PPV will sell well. He has reached the casual fans, and they are jumping on every bout he has had since he fought De la Hoya. Example...Clottey v Pacquiao. I don't think it's unfair on Margarito, I couldn't care less if he ends up weight drained (like some people are suggesting over the catchweight) and loses...he shouldn't be in this position anyway...he should be made to work his way back up to World level. I agree, Pacquiao is reaching his physical capabilities...but Roach, etc thought he had reached his limit when they were considering putting him in against Foreman, and then had second thoughts. Anyone in and around the top 10 rankings of 140lbs, 147lbs, and 154lbs deserve more of a shot at Pacquiao than Margarito does. Ignoring whether Arum is taking advantage of Margarito's situation to sell seats and PPV's...Margarito hasn't earned his shot. And no, I don't think he should wait around 2 years for Mayweather, but it still doesn't stop the fact that there are more deserving boxers for a shot at Pacquiao out there than Margarito.
Yeh i hear what you're saying:good Morally & in a fair & perfect world the likes of Tim Bradley or Berto should get a shot at the big $$$ donut well before Margo goes without saying.:deal I don't think Williams is a good idea as that would be a freak show, there are limits to which even Pac can't go too But i think Arum's already come out & said that seeing this is his movie he gets to pick the stars & what with Pac in all reality is really as we both know coming too the end of an incredible fairytale like end to his career in being able to maximise the $$$$$ potential of any fight he know takes on & as he always says, "i'am just doing my job" my promoter will decide who i fight next. Boxing is littered with the unjust, an imperfect world for some & not for others, but ai'nt that always what boxings been about!
and yet pac still has the URGE to fight floyd while floyd on the other hand does not. the mentallity of the so called goat of this era doesnt have the URGE to get in the ring with the guy he can easily beat. CLASSIC..!!!!:rofl
Ah you must be the brains of the bunch! Johnson and Jefferies at the turn of the century was huge. Louis and Schmelling was more political than racial. Name another fight that contained as many racial undertones between then and Holmes vs. Cooney in 1982? Who was responsible for that? King! Thank you!
