Ruiz vs McCline was a WBC title eliminator (i've lost count..). King for some reason loves Ruiz, the pride of his recycled heavyweights.

    Can Peter beat Ruiz?

Peter just barely decisioned McCline while being down three times.
Ruiz won by shutout decision and lost only one or two rounds never being hurt. Styles makes fights though, but Ruiz might still be able to hug out a decision.

Ruiz would suffocate Peter with his style and win a easy UD.

King loves Ruiz because he's been fraudulently marketing this glorified clubfighter as the "first Latino HW champion" for years. Real boxing fans know the truth. King got Ruiz rated undeservedly and got him the lenient treatment from the officials he needed for his illegal tactics to "win" a paper title and keep it for awhile.

Peter will DESTROY Ruiz - he'll pull a David Tua on this talentless palooka and rid the division of this disgrace to the sport of boxing.

anybody see the ruiz/mccline fight? I heard it was boring with all of the hugging and such. McCline should be banned from fighting. He shows what he can do when he had to open up vs Peter because of Peter's power and than he comes back with an apparently horrible 'slug like' performance presumably because he let Ruiz dictate the figth. McCline's a bigger bum than Ruiz because McCline at least has talent.

btw, ruiz might go the distance if he is allowed to cheat, but he'll lose anyway you cut it. Waste of time fight.

    BTW

Ruiz by decision, possibly scoring a KD with one of those sneaky punches he throws along the way. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he stopped Peter late on, unless the champion gets himself into better shape.

Peter will knock Ruiz out. Ruiz gets hurt by physical types. He can only win if you allow him to hug you to death. Peters performance against Toney who was to much for Ruiz show what will happen.

Let´s hope Ruiz gets KOed so hard he never comes back. I don´t care who does it, but Peter might well be able to deliver that.

I think Ruiz would have a shot. He's got a quick sneaky right that I think he would land on Sam all night. I think John might be able to pull it off.

Ruiz has a style that makes you cringe. However, he might be able to beat Peter. Ruiz fights best against slow plodding heavyweights that dont throw straight punches, Peter fits the bill to a tee!

I was far from impressed with his performance against Maskaev. I didn't see any improvement. He is slow, very inactive, and his biggest weapon is the rabbit punch. Peter knows or at least should know that either Klitschko will destroy him even easier this time around. His chin is good but not great and he did show that he can take a big punch in the Maskaev fight.

With all that being said, I still think Peter should be a 4-1 favorite over Ruiz. And I think that Peter will probably win a decision if they fight, though Ruiz is a live underdog.

I saw the second half of the fight, and yes..... it was boring as ****.

It looked like one of those Jack Johnson fights.... one fighter throws a punch, they engage a clinch, wrestle for 10 seconds, get in a few light body shots, get seperated and start all over again.

However, Ruiz did land some stuff in every round to win them.

I was disappointed, Ruiz looked quite spectacular against Chagaev.. i thought he'd seen the light but no...
