Lost his first 20 fights, but went on to become a top ten ranked fighter and hold the wbc internaional title, holds wins over simon brown, medrick taylor, and give david reid all the trouble in the world. What are your thoughts on him?
Meh, not much of a fighter if you ask me. He was tough enough to bounce back from all those losses I'll give him that, but to me he was a guy who did just enough to lose competitively.
Saw that one, and his fights against Julio "The Cuban Lover" Garcia, and against David "The Destroyer" Lopez. He was mildly competitive versus Julio, but in the end Kirino lost a prety decisive UD.. this was back when Julio Garcia was more of a boxer before he turned aggressor for a more crowd pleasing style. And against Lopez, well, Kirino was basically completely dominated and also knocked down. If it hadn't been for Lopez hurting his hand with the knockdown, Kirino likely would have been stopped. Like I said, Kirino was more of a game loser than a real solid fighting contender. That whole David Reid thing was really more of a fluke because by that time Reid was showing the ill effects of the beating he took at the hand of Tito Trinidad.
