I think so. Apparently, Bowe has been trying to get in shape for a more meaningful comeback lately. To be honest, I think they would both come in a bit out of shape, but they both have name recognition (it could be a decent fight for a network to carry live) and it makes more sense for Johnson's first trip back to the ring in a while to go in there with somebody who hasn't been in top form for many years. If he can get past Bowe, then Toney could give Johnson a look if he wins the fight against Tony Thompson.
I don't know about this fight, obviously Bowe has a huge name... but I'd have to see what kind of shape he is in first. A joke fight for Kirk won't get him any where. Having said that, I guess he needs to start someplace.
Johnson had skills he just kept getting heavier and heavier with each fight. He could have won a belt in this weak Heavyweight Division had he stayed focused.
It would be great if they work on it and make it happen, whether it's Bowe or Toney both are good fights for Johnson right now. We usually have news like that about Johnson then it goes back to nothing for months, don't understand what issues he's facing that won't make him fight since he never announced his retirement. He has the tools to make some noise in the division right now as long as he stays away from Wladimir Klitschko.
Real waste, now this fight is off as well. Toney is set to fight Brewster next, what the hell is Johnson doing. atsch
