In addition to the No Contest ruling, Team Molina will petition the WBC for an immediate rematch. Luis DeCubas, Molina’s advisor stated, “I’m sure Golden Boy Promotions (Kirkland’s promoter) will agree with me that an immediate rematch is warranted. I remember their great concern for the improper actions of ringsiders after Amir Khan lost to Lamont Peterson, so watching the tape and seeing the obvious influence on the situation exerted by their matchmaker Eric Gomez, who was standing behind the ringside officials shouting at them to disqualify Molina… they must be mortified by his actions and in search of an immediate rectification.”

  2. It was a great stoppage. Showed a complete lack of respect for the ref.
Guy was counting as by rule and his corner was climbing into the ring.
Once I saw the replay I was totally fine with the stoppage and understand how insulting that was to the ref.
I went from outraged with boxing with outraged with everything Molina from his holding to his dumb**** corner.

That's like saying it's ok to give someone a speeding ticket because he was driving 56 mph.

  4. No like going 62 and the cop prob just giving u a warning but you ignore the sirens and dont pull over. Now what the cop gonna do ?
like the biggest no no in the history of being a corner man.

By your logic, Floyd should have a loss againt Judah.

  6. was different the way it played it out. this was much more offensive.
ref was counting in their corner and Molinas corner was like whatever dude go f yourself we need to get in there.

Molina was holding a lot and should have been penalized but regardless Kirkland was losing that fight.... I hope they rematch and Kirkland knocks the guy out the park... but they got to get a waaay better ref than that, who allows excessive holding and can't send a fighter to the neutral corner

OK HOLD ON GUYS. Mayweather fight was different because the ref called for time and was about to penalize Judah before uncle Rog went ape ****! That wasnt durring the actual fight. Anyway as fat Dan from ESPN says THE ROUND SHOULD HAVE BEEN OVER WHEN MOLINA GOT TO HIS FEET!! THAT IS THE TEXAS RULE! Corner man came inside right after that.

The corner entered the ring while the count was still going on. Also, the bell didn't sound it was still time left which means the DQ was the right call.
