Lovely fight that I just watched for the first time yesterday. I felt compelled to share it. There's some great pre-fight footage of the one and only "Gifted One" here. Laing is 36 here but you wouldn't guess it by the razor sharp reflexes and head movement that somehow let him slip hundreds of punches by the narrowest of margins. He does get hit, don't misunderstand me... But I really do find it exceptional how much Laing was able to get away with over the course of his career with his hands below the waist stye. The more of him I see the more I'm convinced that with more dedication and perhaps a bit of luck he really could have been something special. Enjoy! One of the best fights I've seen in the past few months, give this obscure scrap a chance. You won't regret it! This content is protected
On the other hand, Boucher is a tremendously conditioned and willed fighter with great grit, tight defensive ability and a fantastic work rate. He registered more than one notable upset over the course of his career. He throws hard punches with good speed from all sorts of angles with bad intentions, especially that threatening left hook that comes ever so close so many dozens of times... An underrated fighter for sure.
If not for running into Jones I feel Laing would have easily been champ . I feel people overlook how BIG Laing was for his weight class.
