Two enigma's who certainly took some decoding, they tended to get by on the raw fumes of natural boxing talent. its interesting to speculate what Kirk might of achieved with a large dose of dedication and discipline, likewise gypsy Joe who was not shy to party by all accounts, what could he have achieved with a similar dose, and two good eyes ? Gypsy Joe was only beaten once by the great Emile Griffith, and sometimes Kirk snatched Victory from the Jaws of defeat with his hands down showboating, but when both applied themselves as well as being entertaining..they were nobody's easy meat, far from it. Kirk of course pulled of a shock victory over Roberto Duran, and a victory over any type of Duran, even during his boredom years was notable, Gypsy Joe beat Curtis Cokes agoin no mean feat. This could be a Showboating spectacular at worst..but if they both came to win...and bought their A Game's...who's hand would be raised Kirk or Gypsy Joe ??
