james isn't going to be able to take 1/10th the punishment Angulo took vs canelo. if james lasts to the end of the 3rd round i'll be shocked and james will have had done WAY better than I ever thought he was capable of doing.

im not saying having any even rounds because that impossible, I fully expect james to get utterly destroyed in epic fashion

    1. I would definitely be afraid of her, more because she's physically larger than me than for any of her boxing ability.
    2. Being a good female boxer, especially in her era, is not impressive because the talent pool is still extremely small...it was almost nonexistent when she fought. She was USA National Runner-Up and her amateur record was 3-1 ffs.
    3. Yes, I've seen her fight.
    4. She is still not a good trainer.

You'd be surprised how many boxers DKSAB.

Her training style is a throwback to whenever it was alright to overtrain your boxers physically while undertraining them technically and having them spar against tomato cans to build their confidence.

You do realize she was only a good boxer because she was a beast in an era of zero female talent, right? She was a bull in a china closet. That doesn't mean she had the technical ability of a decent male boxer and it DEFINITELY doesn't mean she has the ability to teach boxers.

Remind me what a good soccer coach Maradona was.

Maybe Usyk, Kovalev, and GGG. Possibly Beterbiev, Crawford, and Mikey Garcia.

I don't think Alvarez is elite. He was completely lost against Floyd and fought 100% the wrong fight. Trout was neck and neck, and he once again fought stupid against Lara.

Alvarez has no amateur background and is still developing. I think he's got potential to become elite but he isn't there yet.

If he beats GGG or Ward that'll punch his ticket though.

True, Wolfe brings out the beast in Kirkland.

Off topic question: Busta, Jay or Nas? :think

did you just say IF canelo beats trip G or Ward that'll punch his ticket to the elite level ?

no way is he beating trip G, I don't ANYONES beating trip G including ward.... you're holding him losing a dec to Floyd against him ? come on man, we are talking about a fighter learning on the job and with ALL the natural ability in the world. that is why he is elite in my book..

the first 35/40 fights were pretty much his amateur career and I see elite level skills in him. the only fighters I can say are more skilled than him truly are, Floyd, rigo, trip G, I have on his level are the rest, ward, (yes ward) kovalev and a few others..

maybe i'm just a huge fan of alvarez, I have him as a legit elite fighter, no question in my book. the other fighter I have as possibly more skilled, not all around but more skilled in certain areas is andre dirrell. that mental break down he had vs Abraham really cost him with most on here but I see him beating ward too..

I think him vs trip G is the best 168 lb fight out there.

You definitely overrate him. I don't think he can beat GGG or Ward, but that's the level we're talking about.

He didn't just lose a decision to Floyd, he looked totally clueless and was comprehensively dismantled despite a 15lb weight advantage.

If Alvarez was elite, Floyd would have to be Jesus.
