James Kirkland is fighting on HBO on May 17 and will be taking on Eromosele Albert in a super welterweight bout. We will certainly be talking about this fight tomorrow night on 'Toe2Toe' at www.theknockoutnetwork.com. We also will be talking to world middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, IBF welterweight king Kermit Cintron and promoter Gary Shaw. good step up for kirkland he needs to realize he is out of prison no need to fight like he's still locked
I don't think Kirkland will ever be in a boring fight. Don't know how far he'll go but it WILL be fun finding out.
i love and hate to see him fight.. it's entertaining as hell, but if he'd just settle down and try to also use that thing called defense, he'd be much better.
kirklands extremely fun to watch - i just wonder where he'll end up....if his suspect defense starts getting stronger i really think he could be a force
Looking like a good Friday Night Fights/ShoBox card to me. Should not be on HBO Boxing After Dark. Kirkland should be facing a top 10 opponent to get on HBO BAD IMO.
I've seen Albert a couple times and he's not too bad and should make for a good fight with Kirkland. But what happened to Joel Juio as Kirkland's opponent? That had exciting slugfest written all over it. I won't complaing too much because Kirkland-Albert is still a fun match. I just thought Kirkland-Julio would have really been something.
I thought they're considering Kirkland vs Baldomir??? This is a better matchup. KO artist vs an unKoable guy.
There were problems between the two promoters, Gary Shaw and Main Events, and so each moved on to something else. Julio is fighting Ishe Smith and now Kirkland gets Albert. We have Gary on the show tomorrow night and will certainly ask him about the breakdown in the negotiations for Kirkland-Julio. Julio-Smith isn't bad but that Julio-Kirkland match was incredible looking. Any chance on the Julio-Kirkland fight happening at a later date or is that a dead propostion at this point?
Bogart With such ill feelings between the two sides (Shaw and Main Events) unless they have to fight one another .... I dont know if they actually ever will. Both sides have drawn lines in the sand. Mike Host, 'Toe2Toe' www.TheKnockoutNetwork.com This content is protected
i love his style too but i dont know if he would be able to impose his will so freely against better opposition
